CROMARTY
While preparing• to return to his
Cromarty home after an overnight
visit with friends in Seaforth, Dun-
can McKellar, 78, suffered a heart
seizure and died almost instantly.'
Mr. McKellar died as he was about
to enter'his car to drive the vehicle
home. With hien' at .the time was his
wife, A native of Cromarty, he lived
in that district during his entire life.
Mr. McKellar was a stone mason and
was still active at his trade in Crom-
arty. He was a member of CromartY.
Presbyterian Church. Surviving are
his wife, the former Christina Scott;
two brothers, Alex and Archie, both
of Cromarty and two sisters, Mrs.
Kenneth ,(Janet) iDtake, Staffa. and
Mrs. Robert (Isabella) Hoggarth,
Cromarty, A brother, Neil, died
about two months ago in Cromarty
district.
Last Wednesday morning they
hanged John Christian down at
Chatham. He was a veteran of the
last war and he had a wife and 2
small children. Some months ago
being awakened out of a drunken
stupor he had killed a man. That's
how terrible the sequel to drink-
ing can be, first murder, then
hanging the murderer. • That's why

keeps on fighting against alcohol-
ism and for sobriety.—Advt.

Hydro Consumers of
Seaforth
Some additional power resources will become
available to the H.E.P.C. on December 15, 1949, at the
close of the navigation season on the Great Lakes.
During the night hours and on Saturday this extra
power will make it possible to afford some measure of
relief to retail merchants during the pre -Christmas
season. Consequently restrictions on store window
lighting ONLY will be suspended daily from 7.00 p.rn.
to midnight December 15th to December 24th, 1949,
inclusive, and all day on Saturday, December 17th,
and on Saturday, December 24th
This announcement, however, does not mean that
power supplies will be unlimited .during this period.
The commission cannot stress, too strongly that this
temporary relief to merchants and Christmas shop-
pers will only be possible if all consumers exert every
effort to conserve electric energy. Your continued co-
operation is therefore most essential
