Mrs. Harvey Taylor; men's most games, also lone hands, Don Buchanan; con- solation, Eric Anderson. A special collection was taken to send a •box of treats to Mrs. Mansel Cook who is in the hospital for an operation. Mrs, Alex Riley gave her home for a blush demonstration last Friday The regular meeting of the W.M.S. and Ladies' Aid of Burns' Church Gently with her son and daughter -in- met Wednesday afternoon at the law, Mr. and Mrs. Douglas :Sang- home of Mrs. Harvey Taylor with a ster in London. Miss Winnie Gray spent the week- end in London and Mitchell. Miss Minnie Reid left on Monday for London, Florida. where she ex- pects to spend the winter months. Mr. Robert Sangster of Walker- ton visited over the weekend with his mother, Mrs. Minnie Sangster. The monthly meeting of the Even- ing Auxiliary will be held in the United Church Sunday School room on Monday night, Dec. 12th at 8:15, p.m. The program will be in charge of Miss M. Ellis and will be of a Christmas nature. On this occasion the W.M.S. members will be special guests. Mrs. Cross will present the message. At this meeting a collection of toys will the received for shipment to the London Protestant Orphanage. Miss Mavis Spencer and Mrs. W. Spencer will be hostesses. The regular monthly meeting of the Hensall Institute takes place in the United Church Sunday School room on Wednesday evening. Dec. 14th at 8:15. Mrs, Shirray and .Mrs. Chapman will act as hostesses. An interesting Xmas program is being planned, Mrs, Cross will give the topic; Mrs. Blackwell, the motto;. Mrs. Elgie, the Demonstration. Miss Florence Welsh will direct Xmas Car- ols. As the Presi- dent, Mrs. McVittie was unable to be present Mrs. Geo. Carter had charge of meeting. After the opening hymn. the different officers gave their re- ports for the year, and the slate of new officers for the new year were appointed, As the roll was called each member placed a toy or toys in a basket, these are to be forwarded to needy children. For scripture reading Mrs. Canter selected 'from the Bible different passages on judg- ing, these were read by members of group 2. Mrs. J. Hesselwood, who had recently moved to Blyth was pre-• sented with a life membership by the society. Mrs. Wm. Bell was presented with, one at the previous meeting. These had been purchased by money from the copper contest. After Mrs. Neilans led in prayer Mrs. Keith. Hesselwood took charge for the group meeting. The study book was taken by 14Irs. Robt. Beatty assisted by several in group 2. Mrs. R, Jamie- son read a nicely worded address, while Mr:s. Neilans and Mrs. Peter Taylor presented Mrs. John Hessel- wood with a beautiful tri -light lamp and cup and saucer, These were gifts from ladies of Burns' Church. Mrs. Hesselwood thanked the ladies for their gifts and kindness. Mrs. Wm. Bell conducted meeting for ladies Aid. A very successful bazaar was auctioned off by Mrs. Watson Reid.
