Wilbur Carl Passmore, second.
victim jof an automobile -truck colli-
sion died in Brantford Hospital on
Wednesday, July 27th. He never re-
gained consciousness.
A well-known business man in
Hensall, Mr. Passmore operated a
garage; on No. 4 Highway and was
the Dodge dealer in this district.
He was member of the Masons
Chapter and Preceptory Orders.. the.
Hensall Chamber of Commerce, and,
Hensall United Church. He was a
member of the Hensall volunteer Fire
Brigade, also a Shriner and was
well-known for his support of Hen-
sall sports, a member of. the Offi-
cial Board and Board of Stewards'of
the United, Church.
One' brother Gerald was killed dur-
ing bombing operations over Ger-

Masonic funeral services were
conducted at the family residence
Saturday at 2 p.m: followed by pub-
lic service in the United Church, con-
ducted by Rev. R. A. Brook, assisted
by Rev. Cumming and Rev. P, A.
Ferguson. Mr. Sam Rennie sang a
solo entitled "Someday I'll Under-
stand'!. The floral tributes were
numerous and very beautiful. Inter-
ment fin Exeter Cemetery.
At 'the annual Hensall Institute
picnic: held on July 8th it was de„
cided , to have a layette shower to
aid a ineedy family in this district,

Wm. Dignan
The death occurred at his late
home in Hensall of William Joseph
Dignan on Saturday, July 30th. He
had not been well since having had
a bad fall on some ice last January
but had only been bed fast for past
two weeks, The late Mr. Dignan was

Dignan on the Zurich Road near

October, 1902, he was married to
Emily Troyer, of near Hensall, who

tries played a return exhibition with
Dublin B' team. The Irish once
again defeated the Foundryteam by
a 10-3 score in a seven inning twi-
light game.
Cremin for the foundry struck
out two, walking one. For Dublin,
Morris, McGrath and Hammer shar-
ed the pitching duties. Umpires: Don
Woods, plate; Jim Wallace, bases.

Seaforth will replay the game which
was given to Brussels by a mistake.
After Brussels was given the game
it was found that the group conven-
er had failed to tell Seaforth that
they couldn't play that night.
Seaforth ladies shaded Exeter on
Tuesday evening by a 7-6 count.
