Bill Bennett last week began his
fifty-first year of , work in The
Mitchell Advocate office establishing
a golden anniversary record of ser-
vice to that paper.

family of Embro were guests of Mr.
and Mrs.. Ted Mack, over the week-
end.
Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Brisson of
Grosse Pointe, : Mich., spent a few
days at their .cottage this week.
Mrs. Ed. Weston spent the week-
end in Goderich.
The local veterans and the village
trustees are making a flower bed
around the Cairn in ClanGregor
Square which they intend putting a
low ornamental fence around. Any-
one who wishes to donate any bulbs
or flowering bushes, preferably per-
ennials, would please leave with Mr
Malcolm Toms, these would be very
much appreciated.
Mr. and Mrs. Keith Pruss of Lon-
don were guests 'over the weekend
with Mr. And Mrs. Jack Parker.
Mr. Lawrence Fowiie of London
and Mr. and Mrs. G. Koehler of
Zurich were guests of Misses E. and
F. Fowlie over the weekend.

London spent the weekend with the
former's mother, Mrs. Jim Ferguson.
The Service in Trinity Church was
taken on Sunday by Mr. H. Legs of
Huron College, London. Rev. La -
Verne Morgan has been given leave
of absence for the next few months
and is at present undergoing treat-
ment at Beck Memorial Sanitarium,
London.

end at their cottages were Mr. and

and Mrs. Chas. R. Will, Mr. and Mrs,

Moved to the village and are com-
fortably settled in their new home.
We welcome them to the village.
We are pleased to report that Mr.
Moir has sufficiently recovered from
his recent burns to be able to leave,
the hospital but is still unable to
work. We hope for' a speedy recov-
er Sunday guests in the villiage were

Last week was unfortunate for
some, on Wednesday Mrs, R. Scott
fell and sprained her right ankle.
Mrs. J. K. Cornish also fell and now
has one ,of her ankles in a cast.
On Saturday evening, Eileen, six-
year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Victor Taylor, was scalded when she
fell into a pail of 'Trot water, she was
taken to Clinton Hospital where
her wounds were dressed.
Mr. and Mrs. A. Brock of Hensall
visited with Mrs. Brock's parents,
Mr. and Mrs. J. K. Cornish during
the weekend.
Last Sunday morning some of the
boys and girls of the Sunday School
assisted in the service. The choir of
boys and girls accompanied by Mrs.
J. Murdoch lead in the singing, they
also sang an anthem. Scripture read-
ing was taken by Ann Haugh. Bob-
bie Broadfoot and Mary Broadfoot,
Jack Dallas read a story about David
Livingston, a quartette consisting of
Verna Eyre, Donna Taylor, Leona
Taylor and Margaret Zapfe sang
"A little seed lay fast asleep". Dur-
ing the service the following were
baptized. Leslie Ross, son of Mr. afirli.

Scott, son of Mr. and Mrs. Archie
Mustard and Barbara Isabel, daug-
