Advance in Christian Missions,
Christ is risen, He is risen indeed,
Hymn 10$ was sung. Mrs. Ivan Cart-
er and Mrs. Bert Shobbrook read
the scriptures found in Mark 16; 1-
15 and . Acts 1; 12-14 and 2: 14-32L
42 with prayers between each by
Miss F. Jamieson: Mrs. F; Tamblyn
read about the Advance in Home,
and overseas Missions.
We cannot only rejoice in what
we are doing overseas, but catch a
vision of what we might do if we
had more money and more mission-
aries. As our share in advance we
could attend meetings regularly.
Help to enlist new members, in-
crease our givings. Those are only a
few ways we could all share in ad-
vance. Mrs, Langrad sang that
beautiful number 'Open the gates
of the temple". Mrs. (Rev,) Rogers
of Blyth was the guest speaker.
She based her remarks on verse 2 of
the 6th chapter of Revelations: "And
I saw and behold, a white horse, and
he who sat on him had a bow, and
a crown was given him and he went
,forth conquering and to conquer.
Mrs. R. Townsend took the chair
for the business period. She voiced
the appreciation and thanks to Mrs,
Rogers for her very fine address.
Roll was called. Mrs. Watson took
up the offering. Miss L. Young
spoke on Christian Stewardship, Mrs.
Brenton read a paper on the "Bev-
erage Alcoholic" Delegates were
named to attend the meeting in Hen-
salt on April 2Gth, hymn 407 was
sung and Mrs. Townsend pronounced
the Benediction. A bounteous lunch
was then served which concluded a
very inspiring and friendly after-
noon.
A very fine Cantata "The Easter
Revelation" was given in the United
Church Sunday morning sponsored
by the Mission Circle and the
church choir. A vast crowd assemb-
led and enjoyed this splendid Can-
tata which was one of the best ever
presented in this community, was
superior to many put on in larger
towns and was well worth seeing.
Next Sunday evening, April 24th,
the Londesboro group will present
it in the Blyth United Church.
The sympathy of 'the community
go out to Mrs. R. 'Caldwell and
family in their recent bereavement
in the loss of a dear husband and
father, and to Mrs. Caldwell, who
has been quite ill, we wish her a
speedy recovery.
Mi. and Mrs. Baignent and two
children from near Ingersol spent
the weekend at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Thos. Fairservice.
We are sorry to hear of the seri-
ous illness of Miss Alice Fingland
who is in St. Joseph's Hospital, Lon-
don, having underwent an operation
on Wednesday of Last week. Her
many friends wish her a speedy and
complete recovery.
