Mrs. C. Kennedy and Mrs. A. Scholl sang a pleasing duett. The Session have engaged Mr. Nichol, C.C.0, of Kitchener, as organist and choir leader, his duties to commence at once.' Mrs. Sarah E. Thompson Mrs. Sarah Edith Thompson, 84, widow' of William H. Thompson, died at Victoria Hospital, London, on Sat- urday. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Rheta Charles, London, a son Lyle, Red Deer, Alberta, two sisters, Mrs. Anna Walker, Mrs, Eliza Bu- chanan, Hensall; foul' brothers, Ern- est and Alfred .Cav'liele, Detroit; Wil- liam, Winnipeg; Robert, of Indian Head, Sask. The body rested at the home of Mrs. Anna Walker until Monday when the funeral service was conducted at 3 p.nm, with burial in Hensall Union Cemetery. BLAKE BORN To Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bancroft in the Clinton Hospital, a daughter on April 1st (Marguerite Helen). Miss Emma Dinsmore spent the weekend in Seaforth with relatives. Mrs. Sam Hey has returned after spending a few days with her claug- liter Mr. and Mrs. James Burdge and Mary at Goderich. Mrs. Archie Mustard and sons of Brucefield visited her father and sister, Mrs. Younge and family, last week. Mrs. Cecil Attridge and son have returned to her home in 'Goderich after spending a few days with her mother Mrs. Clarke, who has been 811. The many friends of Mrs. R. Oesch are sorry she is confined to her room again. Her many friends wish her a speedy recovery. Quite a number of the neighbors from the Bronson Line attended the funeral of Miss 'Stevens, formerly of the Bronson Line, held in Listowel on Monday afternoon. Mrs. Baechler, in Blake, is holding an auction sale on April 13th, of her real estate, household effects etc. Mrs. Baechler-.intends making her home with her daughter in U.S.A. Mr. and Mrs. Leon Jeffrey .spent a few days. with their daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Napoleon Ducharme and family at London during the week. WINTHROP The Easter meeting of the Help- ing Hand Mission Band will be held in the schoolroom of the church on Saturday, April 9 at 2 o'clock. The many friends of Mr, Sol Shan- non will be glad to know he is home from Scott Memorial Hospital. Mr. Andrew Montgomery of Brant- ford spent the weekend at his home.
