Kaye McGowan, little daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Peter McCowan is in Scott Memorial Hospital with pneu- monia. Mr. Ken Adams is ill in the hos- pital with pleurisy. Mr. and Mrs. Howard Purdy and daughter of Toronto were weekend guests of Mrs. W. E. Kerslake. Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Elliott, Strat- ford, visited over the weekend with relatives in town. Mr. Thos. Nolan, Niagara Falls spent the weekend with his mother Mrs. Jas. Nolan. Mr. L. Fortune, London, spent the weekend with his wife and son. Miss Margaret McIver, Kitchener, visited last weekend with her parents Mr. and Mrs. P. McIver. The Rebekah Lodge is having a home baking sale and afternoon tea on April 16. Mr. Harry Addicott returned to Owen Sound on Monday after spend- ing the weekend at•his home here. He expects to sail on April 15th to start the season on the ,Great Lakes. Mr. and Mrs. Hrry Earle of Cen- tralia spent the weekend in town. Among those attending the funeral of the late Roy Brown from a dis- tance were: Mr. and Mrs. V. R. Peif- fer of Detroit; Mr. and Mrs. A. Bell of Ingersoll; Mr. John McKilinon of Walkerton; Mr. and Mrs. Lloyd Hay- ter and family of Ilderton; Misses Jean and Dorothy McDougall of Lon- don. Admission 35c and 20c MAE LANE On Tuesday evening, March 22 the Mae Lane Auxiliary and Wo- men's Missionary Society of North- side Church held their Easter Thank - offering in the schoolroom with a splendid attendance. The President, Miss Vera Mole, was in the chair, Mrs. Roy Lawson, President of the W. M. S. was on the platform. Mrs. George Johnston, first vice, opened the meeting with a poem entitled "The Book of all Nations". The hymn "Crown him with all crowns" was sung, 'followed with prayer by Mrs. B. Christie. The scripture les- son, Psalm 23 was taken by Mrs. A. Westcott, After singing "When 1 survey the wondrous Cross", Mrs. Roy Lawson led in prayer. Miss Win- nie Savauge and Mrs. Jas. Stewart favoured With a piano duet and was much enjoyed. -NIrs. A. J. Donald, of St. John's manse, Stratford, gave a splendid and inspiring address deal- ing with the Christian home and proved very instructive. Miss 'Rena Fennell and Mrs. Hay ' ndvecl a hearty vote of thanks to the speaker. The closing hymn "In the, Cross' was sung followed with the Mizpah Benediction, A social hour was en- joyed by all.
