Mrs. Lulu Burt and' Mary Lou Burt of London are spending this week with the former's parents Mr. and Mrs. Fred Baker. Mr. and Mrs. Jim Scott and Katie and Mrs. R. H. F. Gairdner were in Seaforth over the holiday weekend. Miss Elizabeth Weston is spend- ing a few days in • Holmesville with Mr. and Mrs. T. Elliott. The annual Christmas concert of• Trinity Church .Sunday •School, was held in the Orange Hall on Monday evening. Mr. H. V. Roy of •Londes- boro showed pictures of the Holy Land, York Cathedral and two'com- edies which were very much en- joyed by all present, at the close of the programme lunch was served by members of the Ladies' Guild and the presentation of gifts was made to the children of the Sunday School • Santa Claus came to'Bayfield on Wetesday .afternoon last. One of the most interesting parades seen in the district for some time took place when the various schools.;fronr the surrounding district participated. The parade started off with Mary and Joseph riding on a edit, the par- ticipants being pupils of S. S. No. 4, Stanley. Santa •Claus in all his glory and surrounded lry clowns was the next float. "The old woman in the shoe," ably portrayed by S.S. No. 4, Stanley with four wooden soldiers marching alongside, followed. • The next float was "Winter Wonderland" which. showed all types of winter' snorts. Bayfield Junior • School was responsible for this float, Bayfield Senior School 'followed with a splendid, float depicting the Christ- mas story with Mary, Joseph and Shepherds. Farmers in va{ous winter scenes were .displayed by the floats which' were from S.S. No. 3, Stanley. Fair- mount School No: 10 had their, part in the parade in two sections, one the Nativity Scene and the other Dart ,a pony and cart with Snow 'White and'the Seven Dwarf's. The•• final part of the parade was the Bayfield Fire Department with their truck. The judges were Reeve Eliner Webster, Fred Weston and Rev- F. G. Stotesbury and they awarded; the. prizes as follows: S.S. No. 4, $'T'. Bayfield Junior School 36.00; Fair- mount School No..10, 34.00; Bay- field Senior School 83.00: S -.S. No. 3. Stanley, 31.00. 'In all some 260 children received bags of candy. The affair was arranged by the Bayfield Lions' klub and the Trust- ees of the Village of Bayfield. That, the Secretary ad- vertise for tenders for caretaking No. 2 school and' any other school where the caretaker's term expires, if said caretakers request an in- crease in salary. That the payment to 3. Passmore of 31183.60 for wir- ing No. 1. 4 and 9 schools as per con- tract and H. Bachly for toilet re- pairs for $281.60 be approved. That the Twp. of Tuckersmith be paid audit fees of 350.00. That the care- takers of the various schools be paid their salaries as per contract. That Rod.
