ed over the weekend with Mr, and
Mrs. L. Baynham and Mr. and Mrs.
Melvin Moir.
Reeve A. W. Kerslake was in God-
ei'ich last week attending the Coun-
ty Council meeting.
Mr. Harold Bell, who recently un-
derwent an appendix operation in
St. Joseph's Hospital was able to re-
turn 'home,
Presentation
A very enjoyable time was spent
at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
Pepper, on Wednesday evening when
the neighbours gathered to honor
them prior to their departure to re-
side in Hensall. The evening was
spent in playing progressive euchre,
the winners as follows: Ladies' first,
Mrs, Louis 'Clark Jr., consolation,
Mrs. J. Pepper; gent's first, Stewart,
Pepper, consolation, Gerald Bell.
Following the euchre, Mr. and Mrs.
Pepper were presented with an end
table and lamp by Mr. Melvin Tra-
quair, Mr. George Walker read the
accompanying address:
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Pepper—It was
with regret that we learned of your
intended departure from our com-
munity to .become town dwellers,
much as we esteem Our neighbours
in Hensall. You, Mrs. Pepper, we
have known a comparatively short
time but we have found you a gen-
erous and kindly neighbour and have.
been much pleased by your friendli-
ness and good -will, and you, Mr.
Pepper, a life=long resident of the
farm which you are now leaving,
will appreciate the fact that every-
one Who leaves our neighborhood is
sincerely missed by those who re-
main. Please accept these small gifts
as a token of our good -will and con-
cern for your future happiness.

visiting over the week end with rel-
atives and friends.
Mr. 4and Mrs. James O'Connor- and
Mrs. Agnes O'Connor and Norman
returned home after spending the
week end visiting Mr. and Mrs, Don
Miller in Detroit and Sister M. Con-
cessa in, Windsor.
On Friday evening the 'Altar •So-
ciety of St. Patrick's Church spon-
sored a social evening in the parish
hall, a large crowd attended, Forty-
four tables played progressive eu-
chre; prizes were won for high score
by Theresa Kistller, and Jerome
Murray; consolation prizes went to
Mrs. Loretta Gordon and Michael
McLaughlin, Lucky chair prize went
went to George Holland, ' Michael
Nagle, John Murray. A highlight of
the evening' was the drawing of the
lucky ticket for a doll dressed in
currency, won by William Dantzer,
and a three-tier Christmas cake won
by Joseph Cronin. The Harburn
orchestra, Staffa, furnished music
for dancing. Lunch was served bY
the committee in charge.
The Ladies' Guild of St. Mary's
Church held their monthly meeting
at the home .of Mrs. Andrew Whet -
ham, the President, Mrs. Rock pre-
sided and led the devotional period.
Mrs. Smith read the scripture. After
the usual business meeting the ladies
quilted a quilt. Lunch was served by
the hostess and assistants.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Feeney and
family, London, with Mr. and Mrs.
Patrick Feeney and attended the
Kelly -Feeney wedding on Saturday.

A pretty autumn wedding took
place on Saturday morning at 9:30
in ;St. Columban R. C. Church when
Mary Ellen Feeney, eldest daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Feeney,
R. No. 2, Dublin, became the bride
of 'Thomas William Kelly, London,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Kelly,
Kinkora. Rev. Fr. O'Drowski, parish
priest, performed the ceremony and
sang -the nuptial mass. Mrs. Vincent
Lane presided at the organ. Miss
Beatrice Lane was soloist and sang
"Ave Marie" at the offertory and
"On this day 0 Beautiful Mother"
during the signing of the register.
The altars were decorated in
bronze and mauve mums. The bride,
given in marriage by her father,
looked charming in a white satin
gown with tight bodice, long full
skirt ending in a train and a long
silk net veil completed her costume
and she carried a .bouquet of Ameri-
can Beauty roses. Miss Anne Feen-
ey, sister of the bride, was maid of
Honor wearing a floor length gown
of pastel yellow brocaded satin with
matching tread dress and mittens,
and she carried a bouquet of yellow
baby mums and bronze ribbon. Miss
Theresa Kelly, Sebringville, sister of
the bridegroom, was bridesmaid, and
wore a pastel' Freen brocaded satin
gown, matching headdress and mit-
tens and carried a bouquet of yel-
low baby mums and yellow ribbon.
Little Marie Williams, of Flint, Mich-
igan, niece of the bridegroom, was
flower girl in a pink taffeta frock
with tight bodice, long full skirt with
ruffles and lace, and she carried a
nosegay of baby mums and carna-
tions. Thos. Feeney, Walkerton, bro-
ther of the bride, was best man and
the ushers were John Kelly, Port
Huron, brother of the bridegroom,
and James Feeney, Walkerton; bro-
ther of the bride. A wedding break-
fast 'was held at the Commercial
hotel, Seaforth. The bride's table
was decorated in white and mauve
mums, white candles and the table
was centred with a three-tier wedd-
ing cake. Later a reception was held
at the home of the bride's parents.
The bride's mother received in a
gown of rust crepe with corsage of
Johanna Hill roses, She was assisted
by the bridegroom's mother, in a
silver blue crepe gown; and corsage
of Talisman roses. The assistants
were Misses Lorraine Jordan, Lon-
don, Bernadette Barrie and Angela
O'Reilly, both of Dublin.
For a honeymoon to Niagara Falls
the bride donned an American Beau-
ty crepe dress, royal blue coat and
accessories to match. The groom's
gift to the bride was a walnut hope
chest, to the maid of honor a gold
necklace, to the bridesmaid a gold
chain, to the 'best man a hill fold and
tie chain and to the ushers cigarette
holders.
After their 'honeymoon they will
reside in London. Guests were pres-
ent from Port Huron, Flint, Mich.,
Toronto, Sebringville, Mitchell,
Stratford, Rostock, Blyth, Lucknow,
Seaforth, Kinkora and London. The
oldest couple attending the wedding
were the bride's grandparents, Mr,
and Mrs. Patrick Feeney of Dublin.
Guests from a distance included Mr.
and Mrs. T. Donnell, Rostock'; Mr.
and Mrs. Jos. J. Williams and dau-
ghter, Marie, Flint, Mr. and Mrs. R.
H. Westnutt, Toronto, Mr. and Mrs.
W. 0. C. Wingham, Mitchell, Mr.
and Mrs. John D. Kelly, Port Huron,
Mr. and Mn. Edwin Hill, Vanisse,
Miss Annie Roach, Detroit, Mr. and
Mrs. Thomas Feeney and family, of
London, Mrs. Mary Kelly and sons,

The November meeting of the 'W.
A. and W.M.S. of Egmondville Unit-
ed Church was held Tuesday after-
noon, Nov. 16, at the home of Mrs.
Roy McGonigle, Mrs. Elmer Steven-
son opened the meeting by reading
the poem "In Flander's Fields",
Hymn 445 was sung and the Lord's
Prayer repeated in unison. Mrs.
Haney and Mrs. Pepper conducted
the devotional period from the Mis-
sionary Monthly. Mrs. Watson took
the W. A. topic 'It is better to wear
out than rust out". Following the
business period Mrs. McMillian took
over the meeting for the W.M.S.
Hymn 500 was sung. Mrs. °lenience
gave an article on Christian Stewart -
ship; Mrs. Ebner Cameron took the
W.M.S. topic from the study book
"Great Is The 'Company": Hymn 148
Was sung and the Mizpah Benedic-
tion pronounced.

Death of Mr. George Hoegy.—
A highly respected resident of
Grey township died in St. Joseph's
Hospital, London, on Sunday, Nov.
21st, in the person of Mr: George
Hoegy in his 69th year. Mr. Hoegy
had been ill about three weeks. Mr.
Hoegy was born in McKillop where
he lived until moving to Grey. His
wife, who survives, was the former
Miss Lydia Regele of McKillop. He
is also survived by one son, Clifford,
of McKillop. A daughter predeceas-
ed him in 1935. He leaves four
brothers, Mr. Louis Hoegy, of
Seaforth; Henry Hoegy, Grey twp.;
Fred Hoegy and William Hoegy, of
McKillop, and one sister, Mrs. Henry
Wieterson, McKillop, Mr. Hoegy was
a member of the McKillop Eyangel-
teal church, where the funeral ser-
vice was held on Wednesday, Nov. 24
and interment in the adjoining cem-
etery. -
CROMARTY
A congregational meeting of the
Cromarty Presbyterian Church was
held in the basement of the church,
Thursday evening, with Rev. Dr. M.
J. Keyes, St. Marys, the interim
moderator, in charge.
It was voted unanimously by
those present to extend a call to
Rev. George Young to fill the pulpit
vacancy, the elders to proceed im-
mediately to have the call signed by
the members. It was also decided to
