Mousseau and Mrs. G. Armstrong. Mr. A. E. Munn will present a demonstration. Mrs. lied - den is in 'charge of current events. Roll call, a flower beginningwith one's initial. You are urged to attend. The Monthly Evening Auxiliary meeting (United Church) will be held at the home of Mrs. Wes. Jones on Monday night Nov. '8th. Mrs. J. Corbett will be co -hostess. Mrs. D. Kyle will give the devotional exer- cises. Mrs. W. Smale will contribute a 'missionary item. Miss Violet Mc - o nt he study book. Mrs. klynn, Mrs. T l deal with tChapman, Mrs. R. Drysdale and ' Miss Mary Goodwin form the social committee. A full attendance of ..members is re- quested. Final arrangements will be made re the annual Auxiliary Ba- zaar scheduled to be held in the United Church Schoolroom on Satur- day afternoon November 20. Please bring your contributions to this meeting. Mrs. Mary Jane Harris returned home from a pleasant visit with rel- atives in Exeter. Mr. and Mrs. Floyd Lee of Fen- ton, Mich., visited .during the past wwith Mrs. eek Edna Corbett, and Devlin and me and - bers of the family. Mrs. A. Pearson of Toronto spent the weekend with her mother Mrs. Annie Saundercock. Mr. and Mrs. Jack Corbett, Ross and Connie visited recently with Mi's. Corbett's parents Mr. and Mrs. Albert Morena at Grand Bend. Remembrance Day Observance Planned Hensall Branch Canadian Legion are making plans for the fitting observance of this approaching Re- membrance Day on Sunday, Novem- ber 7th, the Branch will hold a Church parade to the TTnited Church. Parade will move off fron'i the SCe numberown ioflaears, passed awayent of Hensall fat his or a gion rooms at 10:45 a.m., sery will commence at 11. Rev. R. A. Brook, minister of the Church, will conduct the serviee. : . On November llth a service of Dedication of the. Legion colours will be held in con- junction with the Cenotaph Obser- vance. If weather is agreeable the entire service will be held outdoors, if not, only the Cenotaph ceremonies will be observed and all else will be in the town hall. The Branch Chap- lain, Rev, P. A. Ferguson, will offici- ate,and other clergymen will partic- ipate. A detachment of the R.C.A.F. Radar at Clinton, with the Station Band, will attend. All organizations, Guides, Scouts, Schools, Firemen, Village and Township Councils, Chamber of Commerce, are invited to join in the parade which will move off from the school at 10.30 sharp. The whole community is invited to give fitting remembrance to all who served and did not return. Mr. and Mrs: R. IL Middleton spent two days this week in Toronto. Miss Margaret McNaughton has accepted a position in London. Mrs. Charles Cooper is confined to Hospital owing to illness.. Mr, James Smillie has disposed of his property on the north -side of the vi1Mr. and e to Mrs yAlfred , ofm. Cole Cromarty. and Mr. and Mrs. .Clarke Kennedy were in Monkton on Sunday. Mrs. Scholl and Mrs. Kennedy assisted the choir at the anniversary services in the Presbyterian Church. • The many friends of Mrs. G. M. H. SCOTT PHONE 336 home in Exeter, on Sunday, in his 74th year, Born in Usborne, Mr.. Higgins was well-known throughout this .district through his connection with the Walkerton Creamery. He served as Reeve and Councillor in Hensall for many years, taking an active part in politics. Mr. and Mrs. Higgins moved to Exeter about twelve years ago. Surviving is his widow, the former Mary Alice Humeston, three sons, Harold, William and Raymond, all of Exeter; five daughters, Mrs. A. J. Switzer, Exeter; Mrs. Bert North, Woodstock; Mrs. Leslie Knight, Kitchener, Mrs. Orville Beavers and Mrs. Albert Bowen, Exeter; two brothers, Elijah, Toronto; and Thom- as of Oregon. Funeral services were held Wed- nesday at three o'clock from the Hopper -Hockey Funeral Home, In- terment in Exeter Cemetery. CROMARTY Pepper—Wright Jean Elizabeth Wright and Wil- liam Ross Pepper were united in marriage by Rev. R. A. Brook at the United Church Manse, Hensall, Sat- urday, October 30th, at 1 p.m. in a charming autumn wedding. The bride is the only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Howard Wright, Cromarty, and the groom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. George Pepper, Mitchell. For her wedding the lovely bride chose a gown of white silk jersey, trimmed with sequins, and fashioned with sweetheart neckline and long sleeves corning to a point over the hand, pink and white ribbons formed a headdress to hold her finger-tip veil of silk net, her bridal bouquet was red Talisman roses, and the groom's gift a double strand of pearls was her only ornament. Miss Evelyn Taylor, Exeter, was bridesmaid, costumed in pink silk net over taffeta, with short sleeves and elbow length pink mittens. She carried a cascade of red roses with blue accents. Mr. Percy Wright, brother of the bride, attended as groomsman. The reception was held later at the home of the bride's par- ents to the immediate relatives. For receiving, Mrs. Wright wore a blue crepe dress with matching accessor- ies, Mrs. Pepper, also chose a light blue crepe costume with matching accessories. Both wore corsages of red roses. • Baskets of lovely autumn flowers formed the floral background for the home decorations, while the bridal table centered the wedding cake topped with a miniature bride and groom, 'pink and white tapers in silver holders and vases of rose buds completed the decorations. Serving were the Misses Doris Karcher, Kipnen; Lois and Jean Tubb, and Betty Elliot, Mitchell, cousins of the bride. For their honeymoon trin.to Tor- onto and Niagara Falls, the bride donned a black and white check wool suit, fur coat, and black aeessories. Mr. and Mrs. Pepper will reside near Mitchell. Diegel spent a week with Mr. and Mrs. Martin Diegel, Mc- Killop. Mr. and Mrs, George Kahle of De- troit, Mrs. Gus Querengesser (Freda Meyer) of Edmonton, Alberta, are visiting at the home of Mrs. Win.. Meyer and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs. George Jarmuth, Wayne and Robert, spent Sunday with Mr. and Mrs, Howard Queren- gesser in Waterloo. Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Scherbarth, Ray and Donna, Mr. Rudolph Fischer visited with Mr, and Mrs, Alvin Rose at Point Edward over the week. end. Mr, and Mrs. Chris W. Leonhardt and Ross and Miss Nita Beuerman motored to Detroit on Thursday and attended the funeral of Floyd Burnett, son of Mr. and Mrs. Norman Burnett, Detroit. Mrs. Dan Eisler of Souris, Mani- toba, with Mr. and Mrs. Ohas. Wolfe and other relatives. Mr. and Mrs, Chas. Pushelberg and Robert spent Sunday with their dau- ghter Mrs. Gordon Johnson and Mr. Johnson at Londesboro, Mrs. John Koch of Tavistock with relatives. Mr. and Mrs. Dalton Hinz with Mr. and Mrs. Milton Sippel, Tavistock. Mr, and Mrs. Harvey Koehler and Wayne of Galt with Mrs. Henry Kleber Sr. Mrs. Kleber returned to Galt With them for a week. Mr, and Mrs. W. L. Querengesser, and Mr, and Mrs. Sohn Dietz with Mr. and Mrs. Harold Diegel, Mitchell, on Friday evening. The pupils of the school enjoyed a Hallowe'en party at the school on Friday afternoon. They had as their guests children of pre-school age.
