Peiffer and daughter, Detroit, are visiting at the hone of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Hoggarth. Miss June Pevitt, Guelph, spent the week end with relatives 1n town. Mrs. Verna Greenbury Flint, Mich., spent a few clays with her niece Mrs. Elmore Stephenson and Mr. Stephen- son. Mrs. Stephenson and baby Grace returned with her to Flint and spent a week with her aunts Mrs. Greenbury and Mrs. Jahn, ST. COLUMBAN Miss Sadie Queenan has returned to London after a visit with Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Murphy. Miss Mary McGrath 'of' Toronto, spent her vacation with Mr. and Mrs. Angus Kennedy. Sul- livan of Stratford, spent the week- end at their home, Miss Mary Holland is spending a vacation in London, Tommy Ducharme is recovering in Scott Memorial Hospital from an appendectomy. The Forty Hours Devotion will commence in St. Columban Church on Sunday, August 29. Prior to her leaving for London as a nurse -in -training, the choir met recently at the home of Mary Cath- erine Rowland. The girls enjoyed bingo and community singing after which the following address was read by Miss Doreen Murray and the presentation of a gift by Cath- erine Mclvor. The girls served lunch followed, by 'For She's a Jolly Good Fellow" and the National Anthem. Dear Mary Catherine—We, the members of the St. Columban choir, have 'gathered here this afternoon for a last get-together before you leave us. Everyone knows that you are entering into one of the noblest of all professions. We hope that when any of us need some nursing attention, we will be able to call on you. We wish you every success in your chosen career and hope that we will always be remembered by you. Mrs. John Currie has returned from Toronto alter spending a few holidays with her daughter and son-in-law Mrs. George Finlay and RIr. Finlay. Sanderson of Blyth, and Mrs. Eimer Pollard and Fern, of Biytlr, motored to Niagara Falls and Welland last week. Mrs. John McNay is spending a few weeks at Seaforth. Mrs. J. H. Woods returned to Buf- falo Sunday after spending a holiday at the Pinkney home on Goderich St. Mr, and Mrs. Lee Graves spent the week end at Galt. Master Jimmie Peters of Galt, who has been holidaying with his grand- parents Mr. and -Mrs. Lee Graves, re- turned home Sunday. Miss Ruth Cluff is spending her holidays with. her sister at Nakina.
