LADIES' SOFTBALL
On Thursday evening the Blyth
Legionnettes defeated the Auburn
girls to the tune of 16-7. Blyth was
defeated by Auburn earlier but this
game was called due to darkness
with Auburn in the lead. Blyth and
Auburn now stand in fourth place
in the W.O.A.A. League.

On Monday evening the Blyth Le-
gionettes were defeated by the Au
burn girls to the tune of 16-13. This
was a thirteen innings game with
the score tied 7-7 at the end of the
9th and 10th, 10-10 at the end of
the eleventh and 13-13 at the end of
the twelfth. In the 13th inning Au-
burn held the Legionettes down to
3 runs and brought in 6 runs them-

This now puts Auburn in fourth
place and Blyth out of the league
altogether.

In a sudden death game played in
Brussels between the Walton nine
and the Seaforth Fawns, the Sea -
forth Fawns defeated Walton 13-9.
The umpires for this game were
George McNeil, Blyth, behind the
plate and Augustine from Blyth on
the bases. This puts Seaforth in se-
cond place.
The final standing of the W.O.A.
A. Ladies Softball are: Brussels,
1st, Seaforth 2nd, Walton 3rd, Au-
burn 4th, and Blyth 5th.
Brussels will play Walton and
Seaforth will play Auburn in the'.
finals.
Seaforth plays their first game
at Auburn tonight and their home
game Saturday night. Come out and
sunnort the Fawns as they work
their way into the finals.
H.F.A. FOOTBALL
Wednesday evening, Aug. 4th
the first gatne •of the H.F.A.•Foot-
ball finals was staged in Winthrop
between St. Columban and Win-
throp. This game turned out to be a
no score game. .
