ROSS SPROAT We mourn the passing of our friend His weary days are at an end, The home today seems strangely still Friends bow submissive to His Will. A patient patient, through it all So_oheerie when a friend would call. The hearty hand, the kindling eye, The smile when Ross' Sproat said, Good bye. In countr•y•lan.e, or on the street When neighbors, neighbors chanced to meet They'd crack a joke, then one would say Ross told me that one yesterday. He loved the ice, be loved the green He loved a surface true and keen, I'm proud to say in this short line He was a playboy friend o' nine. To those who are his very own Who feel today so much alone, Accept the tribute of a friend And rest assured 'tis not the end. JOHN BEATTIE
