with a very large attendance. After

Lake Simcoe.
Mrs. C. Wolff has returned home
from a pleasant holiday with mem-

Mrs. Elizabeth Hawke
Mrs. Elizabeth Blatchford Hawke,
widow of Rev. Charles Hawke, died
Friday, at the home of MT. and Mrs.
Chas. Jinks, with whom she lived
for the past three years, following a
seven weeks illness, in her 88th
year. A native of England, Mrs.
Hawke resided for many years in
Clinton. Public funeral services
were held from Bonthron's Funeral
Home, on Monday, at 1:30 p.m.,
conducted by Rev. R. A. Brook, of
the United Church. Burial at Clin-
ton cemetery. ,'
Mrs. L. M. Moorehouse of New
Orleans, La., is visiting with her
brother and sister-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. R. M. Kirby.
Miss Violet McClymont returned
home after undergoing an operation
in Clinton Hospital last week.
Miss Roberta Kirby will leave
Sunday with a number of girls from
the 1st Exeter Guide Co., to spend
ten days at Kitchigami Girl Guide
Camp on Lake Huron.
Miss Margaret Pepper returned to
her home in Sarnia after a pleasant
visit with her cousins Misses Marion
and Lois Tinney.
Miss Doris Beane of. Brantford is
holidaying with her cousin Miss Aud-
rey Faber.
Mr. and Mrs. James Morris and
family of Goderich visited recently
Mr. and Mrs. John Henderson and
family.
Mrs. Hannah Workman spent a few
days last week. at the home of her
son-in-law and daughter Mr. and Mrs.
Norman Stanlake at Exeter.
Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Reid and
Jerry are holidaying at Teeswater and
Kincardine this week attending the
Old Boys' reunion.
Mr. Roy Soldan and mother Mrs. H.
Soldan, accompanied by Mrs. Elsie
Case and Mrs. Melvin Moir, are en-
joying a motor trip to Western
Canada.
Mr. and Mrs. S. G. Rennie and fam-
ily are holidaying at Eckel's Beach,
Mr. and Mrs. Al Pearson, Toronto,
and Mr. and Mrs. Donaldson of Lon-
don, visited during' the past week at
the home of their mother Mrs. Annie
Saundercock.
Miss Alma Bell of Toronto was a
week end visitor at the home of her
parents Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Bell, The
many friends of Mr. Bell are pleased
to hear he is improving following his
recent illness,

About 50 guests partook of a de-
licious supper at the home of Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Beuermann on the
occasion of their 35th wedding an-
iversary on Sunday. They were pre-
sented with a chenille bedspread,
floor mat and table cloth from rela-
tives and neighbours and a chest of
drawers from the family. Mr. and
Mrs. Beuermann have a family of
four sons and one daughter, Harvey
and Alfred, Seaforth; Stanley, Kit-
chener; Frank, Mrs. Alvin Pryce
(Eva). Mrs. Beuermann was the
former Edith Eisler, daughter of the
late Mr. and Mrs. John Eisler and
Mr. Beuermann, the son of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Beuermann.
The guests included Mr. and Mrs.
Ed. Beuermann and son Ronald of
Thamesford.
Quite a number from here attend-
ed the shower held in Looby's hall,
Dublin, last Tuesday evening for
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Elligso . newly

eral of the late John Hollatz in
Waterloo on Saturday.

a week visiting the former's son Mr.
Robert Rock at Petawawa, who is in
charge of the Lutheran Churches at
Petawawa; Chalk River and Alice•
Messrs Ford Dickison, John' Mey-
er, Henry Meyer, Norman Rock and
Glenn Miller visited Mr. and Mrs.
Clarence Green at Glanworth, on
Sunday. Miss Audrey Green, who
spent a week at the home of Mr. and
Mrs. Dalton Hinz returned home
with them.
Mr. Eric Schultz, of Kitchener spent
Sunday with his parents Rev. and
Mrs, Schultz.
Mr, Ray Amstein of Kitchener is
holidaying with his parents Mr. and
Mrs. John Amstein.
Mrs. John C. Diegel is visiting her
daughter Mrs. Ed Kressler and Mr.
Bressler, at Stratford.
