OF BUSINESS WILL CLOSE
AT TEN O'CLOCK ON THE NIGHT

Town of Seaforth
All persons in the Municipality owning or
harboring dogs must purchase 1943 licenses for
same on or before July 12th. 1948. Licenses will be
issued from the Treasurer's Office in the Town Hall,
or from the Tax Collector, J. Cummings.
After that date summonses through the Court
will be issued to the owners or harborers of dogs not
having licenses.
All dogs must wear license tags.

Mrs. Wm. Charters, Mill Road; is
in Scott Memorial Hospital, suffer-
ing frog}3 an attack of pneumonia.
Her daughter, Mrs. L. h Thompson,
of Lansing, Mich., is at the Charters
homestead and will remain until her
mother is fully recovered,
Miss E. Luella Laine was home
for the holiday from Ottawa.
Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Carter and
Mr and Mrs. Frank Coleman' were
in the Huntsville district for several
days.
Mrs. C. H. Rudd, Toronto, is visit-
ing her sister Mrs, G. H. -Montgomery,
and brother Mr, G. A. Smith, John st.
Miss Ruth Shinen, Toronto, spent
the week end with her parents, Mr.
and Mrs, S. Shinen,
Mr, and Mrs. A.117. Hahn ,and Miss
Margaret Hahn, London, attended the
Hahn -Gammon wedding on Saturday.

the week end with his mother, Mrs.

the funeral of her sister, Miss Marg-
aret O'Connor.

recently in Brodhagen with Mrs. Anne
El ligson.
Mr. Homer- Alexander, -Parkhill,

WILLIAM MASON
The death occurred on Tuesday,
June 8th, at his late residence on
East William St., Seaforth, of Wil-
liam Mason, in his 73rd year. His
death was preceded by an illness of
almost six months which he bore
with great patience and Christian
fortitude. His friendly and gener-
ous nature won for him 11 host of
friends and acquaintances who deep-
ly mourn his passing. In politics he
was a Liberal and in religion a
faithful member of First Presby-
terian Church. He was born in Hul-
lett twp., a son of the late John
Mason and Jane Watt. He had five
sisters and two brothers of whom
Alex of Clinton is the sole surviving
member. 'At an early age he moved
with his parents to Morris twp.
Where he spent his early life. Oh
June '27, 1906 he married Margar-
et Brigham and in 1910 he pur-
chased a farm in Hullett twp., now
owned by Mr. W. L. Whyte, which
he operated until his retirement to
Seaforth four years ago. Besides his
widow he is survived by three daug-
hters, Mrs. William J. Storey, Mrs.
Sam Scott; Mrs. Arthur Alexander,
all of McKillop twp.; also, six grand-
children. Another daughter, Ella,
predeceased him in 1923.
The funeral was held from his
late residence June 11th. Rev, H. V.
Workman officiated. During the ser-
vice Mrs. Frank Kling sang "The
Old Rugged Cross". The pallbearers
were Secord McBrien, Jos. Hugill,
Miller Adams, Walter Scott, Edward
Durance and Ed. Pryce. The flow-
er -bearers were Thos. MciVlillan, W.
L. Whyte, Joe Rowland, Aub. Hunt-
er, Dr. Harburn and Scott Cluff.
Interment was in Burns' Cemetery,
Hullett.

honoring the memory of Dr. F. H.
Larkin, who ministered in First Pres-
byterian Church ter 28 years, were

returned hone from Scott Memorial
Hospital.
Mr, and Mrs. Wesley Agar moved
to Sarnia on Wednesday where Mr.
Agar has taken a position as station-
ary engineer with Dow Chemical Co.
Mr. and Mrs. F. Devereaux, Port
Hope, spent the week end with Mrs,
Frank Devereaux.
Mr. and Mrs. J. J. Cleary and Mr.
and NIrs. John Flannery visited last
week in Guelph with Mrs. John Flan -
levy Sr. and family.
Miss Terry McIver, Petrolia, is
spending her summer holidays with
her parents, 114r. and NIrs. Peter
McIver.
Mrs. Peter Eckert, Dublin, attend-
ed the funeral of her sister, miss
Margaret O'Connor.
Mr. and Mrs, John Muir and Ronald
visited recently in Fullerton with Mr.
and NIrs. L. J. Davis.

Town of Seaforth purchase that pro-
perty at the west side of the town.

build their own houses and have good

if the town would provide lots and
services and a firm is prepared to
build houses en there that could be
rented at $25 a month.
Councillor Wallace Ross wanted to
know it any property owner can stop
a drain going through their property,
thus blocking drainage to the new
subdivision.
He was informed- that the drainage
engineer has wide power's in such
matters.
Council was unanimous in favor of
purchasing the property and develop -

said, it was sound financing as the
town. would get the tax money every
year.
