Juveniles
The Juveniles got off to a real
bang-up start on Thursday night
last. The 'thunder" of the bats was
tremendous. as the Dublin Irish
swamped Bill O'Shea's Tigers by 45
runs to 14.
As the score indicates the Irish
were superior in all departments,
they showed that practising will paY
off in wins. The Tigers, perhaps not
as old and experienced as their op-
ponents, can take a lesson from this
game and spend more time in prac-
tice.
Both teams started well, the Irish
getting six runs in their first turn
at bat. the Tigers getting 8 in their
first frame. However the Irish went
on to collect 3 in the 2nd inning, 11
in each of the 4th and 5th and fin-
ishing off with 8 and 6 in the 0th
and 7th innings. The Irish collected
at least three runs each. Pvans hav-
ing a perfect night with 8 times at
bat and 8 runs, Kramer too, was
tops with a homer and collecting a
total of '7 runs for his 8 trips to
the plate. Dublin are a real hitting
aggregation.
The Tigers faded after their big
8 in, the 1st inning only picking up
4 in the dth and 2 in the 7th, with
no outstanding hitters.
Both teams can afford to improve
in pitching, fielding and no doubt
they will as the season progresses,
and there won't be as many merry-
go-round games.
There are no games scheduled for
the Juveniles this week but on Mon-
day, June 7, Lieut. Ivany's "Sally
Arms" take on Buzz Finnigan's "Ri-
ver Rats" and on Wednesday, June
9, Jim Chapman's "Boys from
Brucefield" try conclusions with
Bill Smith's local ' 'Wanderers".
Drop into the Lions' Park and see
the kids, they make up in enthusiasm
what they may lack in experience.

they showed that practising will paY
off in wins. The Tigers, perhaps not
as old and experienced as their op-
ponents, can take a lesson from this
game and spend more time in prac-
tice.
Both teams started well, the Irish
getting six runs in their first turn
at bat. the Tigers getting 8 in their
first frame. However the Irish went
on to collect 3 in the 2nd inning, 11
in each of the 4th and 5th and fin-
ishing off with 8 and 6 in the 0th
and 7th innings. The Irish collected
at least three runs each. Pvans hav-
ing a perfect night with 8 times at
bat and 8 runs, Kramer too, was
tops with a homer and collecting a
total of '7 runs for his 8 trips to
the plate. Dublin are a real hitting
aggregation.
The Tigers faded after their big
8 in, the 1st inning only picking up
4 in the dth and 2 in the 7th, with
no outstanding hitters.
Both teams can afford to improve
in pitching, fielding and no doubt
they will as the season progresses,
and there won't be as many merry-
go-round games.
There are no games scheduled for
the Juveniles this week but on Mon-
day, June 7, Lieut. Ivany's "Sally
Arms" take on Buzz Finnigan's "Ri-
ver Rats" and on Wednesday, June
9, Jim Chapman's "Boys from
Brucefield" try conclusions with
Bill Smith's local ' 'Wanderers".
Drop into the Lions' Park and see
the kids, they make up in enthusiasm
what they may lack in experience.
