pupils gave a musical typing demon-
stration. There were also displays of
pulleys, knots, lashings, varieties of
oats and beans and belt lacings. In
the laboratory there were experi-
ments on soil testing as well as the
camera club in action. Other dis-
plays included the history of . ;Sea -
forth, a school magazine, Latin mot-
tos, authentic pictures of Roman
life, woodwork and draughting, pre-
paration and serving of meals by
grades 9 and 10 and washing, iron-
ing, sewing and other household
tasks. In the auditorium, Gordon
Wilson showed five movie reels en-
titled "Owa Villa", "Birds of Cana-
da", "Mary's Little Lamb" ,• "Little
Bantamweight" and "Little Jack
Horner". Tea was served in Miss
Hoare's room under the guidance of
Miss 0. Hoare.
To end the evening a dance was
held in the gymnasium until 1 am,
to recorded music 00 the S.C.I.

HULLETT MAKES GRANT
TO SEAFORTH HOSPITAL
The regular monthly meeting of
Mullett township council took place
May 3rd, the Reeve and all members
of council present. Council sat as
court of revision on the Main Dodds
drain. There were no appeals on this
dram. Moved by Geo. C. Brown
and J. Ira Rapson, that the clerk
advertise for tenders to clean out
and put in repair the Dodds Main
drain, tenders to be opened June 3
at 3 p.m. standard time. By. J. Ira
Rapson and Geo. C. Brown, that we
give $35 grant each to. Seaforth,
Clinton and Blyth Agricultural So-
cieties. Bylaw No. 9-48 was given
its several readings and passed. The
council adjourned to meet at 7 p.m

The monthly meeting of the C.W.
L. was held at the home of Mrs.
Jolm Mclvor. The president, Mrs.
John A..tl'Iurphy opened the meeting
with prayer. The minutes, as read
were adopted, Correspondence was
read and discussed. Five more boxes
of clothing and the cash balance of
350.15 have been sent to the Jesuit
Fathers for shipment overseas. TM -
makes (128 lbs of food and clothing
which have been sent. Ninety-eight
members were reported as having
paid fees. One box of fruit was sent
to the sick. Visitors to the sick re-
ported four calls. Mrs. Shea and
Mrs. Bowman were appointed to
visit the sick next month. Treas. re-
port showed a balance of 379.75.
Mrs. Joseph Doyle and Mrs. Wm.
Ryan were appointed Purgatorial
Society Convenors for this year,
and Mrs. Joseph Stapleton, Maga-
zine Convenor. Mrs. Moylan and
Mrs. McMillan were appointed assis-
tants to Mrs. Johnston to help with
entertainment. A Day of Recollec-
tion is to be held on Sunday, May 9.
Mrs. John A. Murphy and Mrs. John
Moylan were nominated to attend
the Diocesan Convention in St.
Thomas on June 8, 9, 10th, It was
decided to hold the June meeting in
the parish hall. Arrangements were
completed for the dance to be held
on Friday, May 7th at which the
winning ticket for the chinese cu-
shion donated by Father Thomas
McQuaid, will be drawn. Mrs. Moy-
lan gave a comic reading "A Little
Boy",and Mrs. Burke a very in-
strucive reading on "Tuberculosis".
A vote of thanks was tendered Mrs.
McIvor for the use.of her home, and
to Mrs. Burke and Mrs. Moylan for
their part in the entertainment. The
meeting closed with prayer.
