Mr:. Arnold Gackstetter presided and opened the meeting with hymn No 103. Mrs. Arnold Gackstetter then read the scripture lesson Math, 25: 1-10, Mr. Hinto n ,then led in prayer. Hymn 106 was then sting. Easter hymns were then 1 sung. ,Ruth Alexander then favoured with a piano instrumental. "The Fotu' Leaf Clover" was then sung. Marie Jarrott then favoured with a piano instrumental "When It's Springtime in the Rockies" was then sung. Mr, Hinton then entertained the audience by reading minds, which proved very interesting. Mrs. Eldon Jarrott and Mrs. Arnold Gackstetter then conducted contests. A very dainty lunch was served by the East .group. Dr. Gilbert Jarrott of Stratford and Dr. James Jarrott of New York .their mother with City Y sP spent Easter Mrs. Kate Jarrott. We are very sorry to report that Mrs. Edgar McBride underwent an operation for appendicitis in Clinton Hospital on Saturday last. Her many friends wsih her a speedy recovery. Mr. aand MTs. S. Dodds of Oak Palk, Illinois, only son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Dodds of McKillop; pass- ed away in a Chicago hospital Mar. 12th. Interment was made in Clin- ton, Ont., cemetery March 15th. He leaves to mourn, his wife, the for- mer Susan Bromley of Londesboro, one son, Clayton, and one sister, Clarissa, Chicago, His wife and son accompanied the body. The many friends of Mrs, Frank Johnston will be pleased to hear she is doing nicely after a successful operation at Scott Memorial Hospital Monday morning. Mrs. Jos, Little was called to Bel- Irave owing to the serious illness and death of her mother, Mrs. Ged- des. Circle No. 1 met at the home of Mrs. Theron Betties on Wednesday and quilted two quilts. Refreshments were served. Mrs. R. K. Davidson attended the funeral on Monday of her aunt, the late Mrs. Koch at Stratford. Mr. Andrew Montgomery and Ross of Brantford spent Easter weekend wittt Mr. John Montgomery Mrs, Catharine Davidson and granddaughter Betty Anne of List- owel, with Mr. and rhos. R. K. George Bernard with the former's parents Mr. and Mrs. Bernard, in Morris. We are glad to hear Mr. Sam Pethick who was in Scott Memorial Hospital, is improved enough to re- turn home. The W.M.S. and W.A. of Caven, Winthrop, will hold their Easter Thankoffering on Tuesday, April 6, at 2 p.n. in the schoolroom: of the Church. Will all the ladies please bring their needles and thimbles as there is some sewing to be done. Circle 1 will have charge of the meeting. The Helping Hand Mission. Band met in the class room of the Church Saturday, and was opened by a hymn, Mac Montgomery read the scripture followed by a prayer by Rosie Axtlrran. The offering was then taken, A story was read by Mrs. Dodds, followed by the busi- ness. It was decided to hold the next meeting April 10. A. hymn was sung. The meeting closed with the Lord's Prayer. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Haase and family spent Sunday in Acton with Mr, and Mrs. Jim Inglis.
