Mr. and Mrs. Harry. Horton and
Mrs. Alex Mousseau left on Monday
for Hamilton where they will spend'
a few clays prior to 'sailing from
New York, on Saturday, for a two
months visit in England.
Mr. and Mrs, W. B. Cross accom-
panied by the latter's sister, Mrs.
Collins, of Galt, left on Sunday for
Flordia where they will spend a
month's vacation.
Miss Margaret Glenn spent the
weekend with relatives in London.
Mrs. Ed. Fink visited during the
past week with relatives in London.
Miss Barbara Michie spent the
weekend with F. 0. Lloyd Liggett ,
and Mrs. Liggett at Exeter.
Mrs. R. M. Kirby visited recently
with Mrs. Crocker in Exeter.

Church at 11 a.m., conducted by
Rev. P. A. Ferguson,
Mr. Charles Moore a well-known
citizen of Hensall passed away at his
hone here in his 62nd year follow-
ing a lengthy illness. The deceased
was well known as a businessman,
having been in partnership with his
brother John in a hardware store
prior to operating the machine
shop here for many years. He has
been Public Utility Commissioner
for the village of Hensall for the
past number of years. One sister,
Mrs. Johnston survives, A public
funeral service was held from the
Hensall United Church on Thursday,
Mar'c'h llth.
Mr. and Mrs. Nelson Pfaff and
family have moved to the farm of
Mr. and Mrs. Glenn MacLean and
will take up residence there.
Mr. Joseph Flynn was in London,
Monday having x-ray's taken on his
eye.
The many friends of Mrs. Wm.
Brown are pleased to hear of her
improvement,
Mr. Wm. Dabus, a resident of
Hensall for many years passed away
in the County Home, at Clinton, on
Saturday, March 7th. Interment took
place there on Monday.
Evening Auxiliary
The Evening Auxiliary of the
Hensall United Church was held at
1.40 the home of Miss Mattie Ellis, assist -

ken. On motions of Miss Michie and
Miss Goodwin it was decided to give
a $10 donation to Save The Children
Fund. Miss Ann Tate then dealt with
a continuation of the study book.
The next meeting will be held at the
home of Miss Mary Goodwin with
Miss Margaret Glenn assisting. Mrs.
A. Hyde will give the devotional,
Mrs. Hedden, the Missionary item
and Miss Michie will have charge of
the .study, social committee, Mrs.
Hedden, Miss Ellis, Miss Edna
Saundercock, Mrs. Mary Buchanan.
The hymn "Low in the grave He
lay" and the mizpah benediction
closed the meeting. Lunch was serv-
ed under the direction of Miss Ellis
Mrs, McNaughton and the social
committee. The event was greatly
enjoyed by all.
HUL.LETT
The regular monthly meeting of
the Hullett Township Council was
held March 1, in the Community
hall, Londesboro at 1,30 p.m. The
Reeve and three members of the
Council being present. Mr. Wm. J.
Dale being absent on account of
sickness, The minutes of the last re-
gular meeting of Feb. 2nd and spe-
cial meetings of Feb. 12th and 20th
were read.
Motions: Rapson and Jewitt, that
the minutes of Feb. 2nd, special
meetings of Feb. 12th and 20th be
adopted as read. Carried. At this
time Mr. Oliver Anderson inter-
viewed the Council requesting a
grant for the Huron County Seed
Fair which is being held in Clinton
this year. Brown and Jewitt, that we
give a grant of 025.00 to the Huron
County Seed Fair this year. Car-
ried. At this time a delegation inter-
viewed the Council requesting infor-
mation on the installation of some
form of fire protection for the vil-
lage of Londesboro. The Council af-
ter discussing the question request-
ed the Clerk to write the Dept, of
Municipal Affairs forfurther infor-
mation in this question„Brown and
Rapson, that we have the reading of
the Engineers report on the Dodds
`Main' drain on March 25th at 2:00
p.m. and the •Clel-lt send the proper
notifications. Carried. Bfown and
Rapson; that the clerk call for tend-
ers on the digging of branch "B" of
the Kinburn swamp drain, and
branch "A" of the Flynn drain, ten -
dens to ,be opened' on April 5, 1948.

advertise for tenders for crushing
and hauling gravel. The work to
commence on or about Sept. 1, 1948.
