The W.M,S. of North Side United
Church culminated in a very suocess-
fill year's work. The annual ,meeting
'was held in the school roo'in Thurs-
day afternoon, the ,Toth inst. The
meeting was in change of Circle No. 6
'With Miss Annie Ferguson as captain,
'Mrs. W. P. ,Lane pres'i.ded in the op-
ening exencise. Mrs. J. L. Kerr read
the Scripture lesson, Luke 2, '1-10,
Miss A. Ferguson leading in prayer.
Mrs. George Black read the devotion-
al leaflet entitled "The Man' of De-
cision." The topic was taken•, front
chapter 3 of the study book, "Hand
Times in Korea," introduced by Miss
Annie Ferguson. 'Other interesting
papers were react by Miss Lawrence,
Mrs. Gle,w, Mrs. Rintoul • and ,,Mrs.
' V. \Velbster. Mrs. Archibald , pres-

THE MoMILIL'AN CUP HOCKEY.
The teams are all ready for the ice.
Games will .be played. on Saturday
nights the same. as last year. A prac-
tice
raytice will be held for two hours every
week on Tuesday afternoons. Strong
rivalry exists between ' the four teams
entered and some keen 'bgttles will be
fought this winter before the cup is
won. list of 'pl'ayers' names from
the four districts was sent in to the
secretary. These lists were approved
by a committee of five appointed 'for
tli'is
purpose, One representative from
each ditsrict and a neutral representa-
tive formed 'this committee.
As soon as ice is available, an ex-
hibition game will be played between
the 1Sea'forth in'ter'mediates and a pick-
ed team •from the farmers' league.

Citizen," which was greatly enjoyed,
Rev. 1V. P. Lane offered prayer, after
which the Scripture lesson, 1st Cor:

Minutes of the former meeting were

Their December meeting in the manse
Friday afternoon. The meeting op-
ened by singing "While ;Shepherds
Watched their Flocks." The Scripture
lesson was read by Miss Thorns and
1'l:rs. Malcolm led in prayer. The d'e-
votion'al leaflet on "Andrew," • was
taken by Mrs. Jias. Brown. "Silent
Nighlel Holy Night" Was sung after

Mrs. Jas. Brawn s'how'ed that $102.40
was received at the Thankoffering. A
beautiful piano selection was rendered
by Miss Annie Moore. Evalen'a Nott
dealt with the 2nd chapter of the
study book, Korea, Land of the
Dawn. In this: chapter, The Great
Light, the changes that Nave taken
place in the religious life of the Kor-
eans from the time they worshipped
spirit until the present day was dealt
with. Another Christmas hymn, "0
Come All Ye Faithful," was sung and
Mrs. Allen brought the meeting to a
close with prayer. The lunch served
by Mrs. Jas. Stewart, social convenor,
was enjoyed as all spent an enjoyable
half hour together.
Egmondville S.S. are looking for-
ward to- their Christmas entertain-
ment Friday evening.
'Mr. Malcolm, as chairman of the
nominating committee, presented the

present in large numbers,- accepted the

social period was spent in singing

by all repeating the Mizlpah 'bene-
diction, -
A banquet to be held Tuesday, De-
cember 29th, to which all the young
people, over sixteen in the congrega
tion, :whether they dive here or are
only home for the holiday season, will
be invited, is being plannecl.

. Rev. William 'Wilson Aitcheson,
formerly of Seaforth, died at his home
in Salmon Arm, -IB.C., on Friday, Dec,
'The late Mr. Ait'ch'eson was a
cousin of Mr. James Aitcheson, Rox-
'boro, and Mr. John Aitcheson, Win-
throp, About twenty years ago Rev.
\tfr.
Aitcheson went to Saskatoon, and
later to British'Columbia. He is su•r-
vived by his wife, who before her
marriage was ;Miss Anderson, her
hone being also in this vicinity, near.
Blyth, and two dangli'tees, ,Helen;at-
tending university at Saskatoon,' and
Lois, at ]some. Hs was a son of the
late Mr. and. Mrs. William Aitcheson;
residents afI-Iarpur'hey for same
years. Tiro brothers and a sister also
survive him, Robert of Saskatoon;
David of Toronto; and Mrs. Taylor of
Saskatoon,' The Aitcheson lhome in
Hullert is now that of Mr. Thos, Mc-
Michael. Rev. Mr: Aiteheson preach-
ed for a number of years in the, Pres=
by'terian •Church at Dundalk,' Ont
before going to Saskatoon. On several
