A pretty wedding leek place at St.
Peter's Lutheran Church, 13 rod hagen
last Thursday when \y!ss Alice Muel-
ler, only daughter of 3(r, and Mrs. G.
Mueller, was united in marriage to

Manuel Beuermann, youngest son
of Mr. Henry Beuermann, Sr„ of our
burg. The ceremony was performed
by the pastor, before a large lumber
of friends, after which the young
couple and the many guests repaired'
to the home of the briie's parents
where a sumptuous repast was served
after -which all enjoyed then'tselves in
games and dancing until the wee
Bouts in the morning, all leaving wish-
ing the young couple a smooth jour-
ney through life.
'\Ir, and Mrs. Joe .Eckert and fam-
ily from Oakville called on their many
friends 10 our burg this week.
The Service Loan was taken up
quickly. Money seems to be plentiful
'but we doubt if ten per cent of our
citizens could avail themselves of .the
opportunity. 3t would be a better
investment than gambling on wild
goose stocks that have taken out mil-
lions of dollars from the men and wo-
men who have given their hard-earned
life's savings to those high pressure
salesmen who are scouring the coun-
try to snake an easy living.
KIPPEN.
The \V.\M.S. held the last meeting
of the year in churn on Wednesday.
The choir of St, Andrew's Church
are giving a choir concert on Thurs-
day night at 8.15 under the direction
of \IM. Goulding, A,T.C.U., of Exeter.
The concert will consist of choruses,
quartettes, solos, instrumentals, etc.,
'Thursday night at 8.'15.
The Young People of Hillsgreen
are haring a special service on Sun-
day evening. Dec. 6th, at 7.30 p.m.
Rev. W. A,. Bremner of Brucefie'Id
will be the special speaker,
Miss Etta Bell and Grace Cooper of
London spent the week end with
their parents.
Mr. R. J. Cooper had the misfortune
to have his barn on. his grass farm
burned .last Saturday evening, includ-
ing several implements and a quantity
of hay.
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Dayman of
Detroit are visiting with their many
friends in these parts.
lir. Jinn McNaughton is able to
walk a little now after being confined
to the house for three weeks with a
sore knee.
•Mr, R. J. Cooper accompanied by
Miss Grace and Doreen, spent a few
day;. with friends •in Lansing, Mich,
St. Andrew's choir are putting on
a grand concert on Thursday evening
next, December 3rd, which prdnises
to be something worth while and
should be well patronised.
Mr. and firs. Jinn McDonald en-
tertained a number of their friends on
Monday evening last and all report
an ideal time.
BRODHAGEN.
Beuermann - Mueller. — A pretty
wedding was solemnized in St. Peters
Lutheran Church, on Thursday, Nov-
ember 26th, at 1 o'clock, when Mice
Wilhelmina Louisa, only daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Gottlieb Mueller, of
Brodhagen, bedame the bride of Mr.
.Manuel A. Beuermann, youngest son
of Mr. Henry :Beuermann, \Maxi+lop;
the ceremony being performed by the
Rev, John Alberti, in the presence of
a large number of friends and relat-
ives. The bride, who was gowned in
white and carried a bouquet of white
chrysanthemums, was given in mar-
riage by her father. The wed'din'g
march was played by the organist of
the church, Miss Ellie Bentiewies.
The bridesmaid was Miss Jean Eck-
mier, who was dressed in pink and
carried a bouquet of pink roses; and
the groomsman was Mr. Norman
Beuermann, brother of the groom.
Two little flower girls, each carrying
baby intuits were Eva Beuermann and
Myrtle Kahle. The ring bearer was
Wilfred Jacob, and the ushers were
Messrs. Leslie Beuermann and Henry
Bode. During the signing of the reg-
ister lies Fred Dippel of Brod'hagen
sang "Face to Face." Immediately
after the ceremony the wedding party
motored to Mitchell to have their
photographs taken, and in the evening
a reception was held at the hottte of
the bride's parents when a most en-
joyable time was spent by a large ga-
thering until the wee sma' hours,
Malty costly end useful gifts were
received. Among those from a dis-
tance present for the wedding were
Mr. and Mrs. Holfstedder of Kitchen-
er. The bride and groom, who are r
popular young couple, will make
their home with the groom's father.

ST. COLUMBAN.
The CJ@V'JL. held a very successful
euchre and dance last Wednesday ev-
ening. The prizes for the euchre were
won by Mrs. James McQuaid, ladies'
first prize; Mr. Tint Lynch, gentle-
men's first prize, and Prank Williams,
lucky door prize. Beuennann's orch-
estra furnished the music for the old
time dance after the cards.

smith visited her sister, Mrs August
