Women's Institute. — The regular monthly meeting of the Women's Institute was held in Memorial Hall on Thursday, September 3rd. Presid- ent Mrs. R. Richmond presided. Meeting opened by singing the ,open- ing Ode, Mowed by the Lord's prayer in unison. During the business part of the meeting it was 'decided to have our annual .fowl supper on Wed- nesday, November 11th, Program •committee, Mrs, H. .,[•Elroy,. Mfrs. Herrington, Mrs. Richmond and airs. 'Colclough. Mrs. A. Brigham gave a splendid paper on Life and !History. Conituun'ity singing fol- lowed. A flower contest was held, Mrs, A. Taylor and Mrs. J. .!McGill acted as judges, First prize was awarded to Mrs. Alberta Bender for roses; second to Mrs, Wm. Bryant Mr Sweet peas. "Third to Mrs, A. 'Brigh!am for gladiolus. Roll call was well responded by My Favorite Flow- er. The national anthem was sung in closing. Died fn Seaforth.-On Friday mor- ning, September 11.th, a very sad death took place in the Seafortb hos- pital, when Margaret Drake, 16 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Drake, passed away as the result of an automobile accident the week be- fore, The remains were removed to her parents' hoarse near Staffa and the funeral was held Sunday afternoon at two o'clock to the Staffa cemetery and was unusually largely attended. The services were conducted by the Rev. R. N. Stewart, of Staffa United Church. There were many beautiful Horat trihutei and the pallbearers were Allen McDougall, John Ryan, Robert McCaughey, Ted "Sillery, M. Lamont and Prank .Hamilton. She leaves to mourn her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Drake, three sisters, Mrs. Jim McKellar, Verna and Zoe: at one and two brothers, Jack and Bill, Much sympathy is extended to the bereaved parents, brothers and sisters.. Mrs. McGregor read a splendid paper, "We Would See Jesus." After a .hymn was sung, Mrs. (Ciller Adams gave an instructive talk on the story book of Japan- Then Mrs. Coakley led in prayer.
