'Armstrong of Toronto spent the twenty-fourth with his brother here. Killop, and Mr, Joseph Rinn, of V\roodthant. The late Mr. Rinn was born eighty-two years ago at Thorn - dale. West Missouri township, in' Middlesex county, and came to Con- stance 57 years ago, where he •bas continued to reside. He always took a great interest in the young people, and was of a jolly disposition. He enjoyed the' best of health throughout his life until he met with an accident hree months ago, which ,proved too great a shock for him at his age. Mr. Rinn took an interest in public af- airs, was a staunch Conservative in politics, and for a number of years erved on the board of directors of he McKillop Insurance Co, The kindly sympathy of the community s extended to the bereaved ones. The WA. o'f'St. Johns Church met at the home of Mrs. H, Deihl Thurs- day. Misses Gladys and Emily Beatty of London spent the holiday with their mother and sister. Misses Irene and Mary Chuter of London spent the holiday at their parental home. Dr. H. Reid of Toronto, wife and little daughter, spent the week end with the former's mother, Mrs. M. Reid. .Mr. G. Raymond and Mr. MoLeod of London were week end visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John Beatty. A play and program put on by the Dating people of United' Church, of Hohuesville, was much enjoyed in the hall Friday evening. Mrs. Breatherton received the sad news of the death of her father in England. We extend our sympathy to Mrs. Breatherton. Court of revision was held in the hall, Tuesday morning. There were several appeals. Members of the ithe afternoon, council met nnoon, r 0 Mr. and Mrs. Lorne Manson called in our village Monday, CONSTANCE. Death of Mrs. Joseph Riley.—The. funeral will take place this afternoon (Thursday) at 2 p.m., of Mrs. Joseph Riley, of Constance, who died on Tuesday in the Scott Memorial Hos- pital following an operation for ap- pendicitis. Mrs. Riley was extremely ill when taken to the hospital, and al-' though everything that was humanly possible was done, she was unable to rally aftenw^arils and passed away, Mrs, Riley was born in Cleveland and was formerly Miss Mary MleGeary, and until coming to Constance about five years ago, lived in that city, One daughter survives, Mrs, Stutz, of Cleveland„ and two children, William and Maymie, predeceased their mo- ther. Her husband, who survives, is very seriously ill at the present time The funeral will be held from the home of Mr. Robert Grimoldby, Con- stance, to Maitland Bank cemetery, Rev. Mr. Johnston of the Constance United Church having charge of the service. Miss Jessie Fergueon has returned to her school after spending the hol- iday at Clifford. Campbell of Toronto; Itis Jack Kel- lat, of Chicago, and Mr. Francis Wil dams, of Chicago. 'Funeral of the Late Wm. Rinn.— The funeral took place last Thursday of itt. William Rinn and was large- ly attended. The service was con- ducted by his pastor, 'Rev. ,Mr. John- ston of Constance United Church, of which Mr.'Rian was a member, In- terment was in the Maitland IBank Cemetery in the family plot. The pallbearers were Messrs. Fred Mc- Gregor, George Sills, D. Fothering- ham, 'George 'Elliott, 'William Clarke and 'Thomas Livingstone. During the service two of Mr. 'TRinn's favor- ite hymns were sung, "The Cross Leads Horne" and "Sweet By and By." He never married and his niece, 'Miss .Belle McCully always kept house for hum Two sister and a brother also, aurwive:i Mrs. Mary Clarke, who utade her home with him; Mrs. William MoGavin, of Mc - BRUSSELS. Three ,were nominated Tuesday night to contest the reeveship of Brussels, the election necessitated by the death of Reeve Alfred Baeker. Councillor George McCall, one of the three nominated, later withdrew. Ro- bert Bowman and W. Burchill were the others nominated. The election has beta elated for Tuesday, June 2, and it is thought will be closely con- tested. McKILLOP. The Ladies' Aid and Missionary Society will meet at the home of Mrs, Robert Campbell on Wednesday, June 3rd, when the bale is to be packed. BORN.
