Mother's Day- was Observed in our
local churches on Sunday last which
special music by the choirs and ape
clef sermons delivered, In the United
Church a ladies' choir supplied the
music and the Rev. A. Sinclair had
charge of the services. In the even-
ing a trio was given by Mrs. Sin-
clair, Mrs, Drysdale and Mrs. Hed
den, At the Carmel Presbyterian
!Church there was a mdther's choir,
and Rev. Dr, Menne. delivered fine
sermons. In St, Paul's Anglican
Church, Rev. M. Parker had charge
of the services and in the morning a
duet was given by Mrs. Goodwin and
!Mrs, Drummond,
The A.YP.A. of St. Paul's Angli-
can Church held their regular meet-
ing on Monday evening. After the
opening exercises the program was
given by bfr, Francis Abbott of Ex-
eter, elocutionist, which was .very
much enjoyed by all, after which the
topic was given by Mrs, Varlet' on
"Symbols of the Church."

Presbyterian Church held their meet-
ing on Tuesday evening. The meet-
ing was opened by singing a Nynex;after which Mrs. Roy McLaren led
in prayer, after which the Scripture
reading was given by Beryl Pfaff, fol-
lowed by the roll call and secretary'sreport. The business was discussed
and the collection was taken, °follow-
ed by a reading by Miss {Hannah Mur-
ray. The meeting closed with a hymnan
