Finnigan read a paper on recreation
in the church. After intermission
business was discussed and the meet-
ing .closed with '?the Mizpah benedic-
tion.
The Easter meeting of the W.M.S.
of the Egmo'ndlville United Church
was held in the church on April 16,
Mrs, W. F. McMillan presided and
opened the meeting by singing hymn
386. Mrs, Malcolm gave bhe devo-
tional leaflet entitled Persecution of
the Christians in India, China and
Other Coun'tries," and she also led in
prayer. Delegates were appointed to
attend the Presbyterial in North Side
Church, Seaforth. They were: Mrs.
Malcolm, Mrs. R. McKenzie, Mrs.
Shillinglaw and Mrs. McMillan. A
leaflet entitled, "0 Lord,. Revive Thy
Church," was given by Mrs. R. Mc-
Kenzie.' Miss Ethel Jackson sang an
appropriate solo accompanied on the
piano by Miss Annie Moore, The
Easter service leaflet was read and
sung in unison. Mrs. J. Brown led in
the dedicatory prayer. Several of the
ladies treated the other ladies to a
lovely lunch and a social time was
spent.

PETITIOIN FOR 1930
Huron 'County had a small repre-
sentation in the Provincial Competi-
tion last. there being but four en-
tries. ,However, in spite of this small
entry, there were two 'prize winner's
from Huron: Mr. Jno. Pelpper of 'Kip -
pen, 2nd prize, and Mr, Lloyd
Scotchnter of 'Bayfield, 44'h prize.
This 'competition will be conducted
again this year. The objeot is to es-
tablish a standard of excellence for
grade 'brood sows kept by the 'farmer.
It is recognized 'that those brood
sows 'which are prolific and rear Targe
litters of select hogs, that ere good
feeders making .good ,gains at a low
cost are valua'bl'e and improvers of
commercial hogs. This competition
aims to give such sows prominence
and to encourage bhe' breeding of 'hogs
of more thrifty strains -of high quality.

concession, was in Dublin on Satur-
day, He disposed o'1 a fine horse and
delivered it there.

byteriel meeting which is to be 'held
in Egmonil'vi'lle, April '30th, A story
entitled, "The iLittle 'Girt and the
Lions was read by Miss Jean Mur-
doch, Mrs. 'Stevens, leader.. of group
t\'o. 2, then took charge of the remain-
ing part of the Meeting. A, special

the meeting 'With .prayer.
Mrs. Glen McKnight and babe
spent the week ettd visiting friends in
Toronto.
The London Road Community Club
will meet Wednesday afternoon at the
home of Mrs. Walter Swiubank.
