Pearl was born in 'Brucefteld 42 years

greatly beloved by her many friends.
Two months ago she took a very sev-

brought their contribution to the plat-

all the classes responded' nobly, and
with the gifts of the congregation,
.there were six large parcels shipped

Death of Mrs. Stephenson. — There
passed away on Tuesday. Dec. 17th,
alter an illness of a few weeks, Mrs.
Annie Stephenson in her 98th year.
IShe 'had made her home with her
slaughter, Mrs. Armstrong of Clinton
for some years and was residing there
at the time at her death. Mrs. Ste
phenson's maiden name was Annie
Peck. She was a daughter of the late
William Peck of Stanley. Site was
born in England and when quite
young -came with her parents to Can-
ada. She was united in marriage to
John Stephenson who predeceased her
about le years ago.'
Of this .union there remains a family
of three sons and two daughters, viz.,
Ralph and David John of Stanley,
William H. of Marlette, Mich., Mrs.
Emily Armstrong of Clinton and Mrs.
Mice Armstrong of Pilot Mound, 'Ma-
nitoba, all of whom \were with her at
the time of heir death.
Mrs. Stephenson was one of the few
remaining persons who link us upwith
the early days, she 'having come to
Goshen Line over 80 years ago; knew
well bhe hardships ,of the first settlers
and it was interesting to converse with
her and to hear her relate incidents
that happened in those early days.
l She was a woman that had a very
large circle of friends, she was kind
and sympathetic to all; her faith and
hope were in Christ and she had a
strong Christian character that was
felt by all who enjoyed her has passedon;

ance ansa and though she
her influence still lives in the lives of
attcendants.
