Mrs. A. McQueen last Sunday,
Mr. and Mrs. Elsiey of Mount For-
est spent the week endat the home of
the latter's mother, Mrs, W. Stevens,
(One of our citizens, Mr. Darrow,
has moved to IBay'fielc.
The anniversary services, which
were held in the United Church last
Sunday were largely attended. The
auditorium was filled to its utmost
capacity morning and evening. Two
excellent'elisoourses were delivered by
Rev. Mr. Clark of (Goderich, special
music was furnished tby the choir un-
der the lead•ers,hip of Miss Jean Mur-
doc'h, who was .assisted by Mr. Vine
and Mr. Aldrige of London, and cer-
tainly the music was of a very high
order and was much appreciated. A

amounting to nearly $700;00.

On Thursday night the Lions Hal-
lowe'en Frolic will be held. Weather
permitting, the big parade will march
from the Lions Pond to 'the skating
rink, where a 'hot progr4m of events
will take place, Fout `hundred bags of
candy have been gathered at Beattie's
Store and will be distributed to' the
kiddies.
Mr, and' Mrs. John N. Cluff were
home last week visiting hisanother,
and also Miss Irene Cluff, who is sick
in the 'hospital. Miss Rosabelle Cluff
accompanied 'them from Buffalo and
will spend a few days,.
Mrs. Crooks and Miss Ethel Crooks
of Beamsville are spending . the week

niversary services in Old St. Andrew's
Presbyterian Church, Blyth, next Sun-
day. Rev. Mr. 'Goodwill of Blyth will

Mrs, F. H. Larkin of Toronto and
her daughter Miss Helen Larkin of
Kirkland Lake are spending this week
with Mrs. J. C. Greig and Mrs. Jas,
Kerr. Mrs. Larkin addressed the
Tihankofferin'g meeting of the Wom-
en's Missionary Society of the Presby-
terian 'church on .Tuesday.
Mrs. W. O. Fowler is the guest of

'Miss Theresa, Siegel was here Mon -
dray to visit her sister in the hospital.
Mr. John Murray who has been ill
with pneumonia, is not doing as well
as his many friends would like,

Miss Edith 'Siegel of Mitchell is in
Scott Memorial Hospital in a very
serious condition following an accid-
ent just north .olf Wailtolt on Sunday
evening, when her .brothers car left
Ike road in some unknown manner.
With both legs broken and suffering
much from shock, her condition caus-
ed anxiety until Wednesday when im-
provement was noticed. Alt the oc-
cupants of the car were brought to
the hospital, Mr. Norman Siegel of
Stratford, driver of the car,. suffering
from 3 cuts on his fordhead, Mrs.
Norman Siegel had to have her face
sewed wp and 'had .one arm ''injure'd.
Miss. Siegel's autnt, Mrs, Shea of Mit-
chell, was badly, cut. All of the latter
were able to leave the hospital on
Sunday night
The party, had taken Miss Theresa
Siegel, elocutionist. of Calgary, ,to
Brussels, where she gave a recital in
the United Church on Sunday even-
ing
ven-itag and an ententainmen•t the follow-
ing evening. They were returning
from Brussels, having left .Miss Siegel
there as the guest olf Mrs, 'Rohl,
Thomson, Miss Siegel was not in-
formed till the next day that an ac-
cident had pccurred, Miss Theresa
Siegel gave a concert iu Seaforth re-
cently,

The W,M:S. of the Presbyterian
Church held their thankoffering meet-
iitg,ott Tuesday afternoon. The presi-
dent opened the meeting with a hymn,
Mrs. McTavish gave the opening. pray-
er, A solo by i\'.fiss Florence Beattie
was notch enjoyed, Mrs. F. H. Lar-
kin of Tot•onto gave a most interest-
ing address on the work of the Soc-
iety. Mrs, Greig gave a reading telling
of a very old ladies' thankofferdug.
'The offering amounted to $200, for
which Miss Graham made the dedica-
tory prayer.

Mrs. McDonald the best of health to
enjoy their new home.

son are spending a few days in Tor-
