spent a month here, Mr. Epps is me-
chanical superintendent in a sugar re-
finery in Cuba and they leave at the
end of the. week for their home in the
south.

Sam Stinson. Two ladies were passing
the. car and were struck, one of them,
Miss Blanche Taylor, being knocked
down and bruised. Fortunately the car
struck a post, thus preventing the ac-
cidenf from being more serious.

Funeral of Mr. Stinson.—On Thurs-
day afternoon, July 2551a, at 1.30 o'-
clock the funeral of the late Samuel
McBride Stinson, aged 41 years, was
held from the Stinson home on the
Bayfield Road, Orange Lodge No. 10-
35, Varma, of which deceased was "a
member, attended the servioe in a
body. Rev. Mr, Paull of Bayfield An-
glican church and Rev. J. W. Penrose
of Varna United church, officiated.
The pallbearers were Ben Rathwell,
Harry Hayter, Jet). Rathwell, R.
Webster," Geo_, .Clark, Wehlter Turn-
er. Interment Was made at Bayfield
where also a great many friends paid
their last respects to one who had
lived an honest and useful life. Mr.
Stinson's death occurred Tuesday,
July 23 after many months' illness,
and two operations. During the past
year he bought the hone farm, carry-
ing on the work successfully until the
beginning of his illness again in Jan-
uary. A son of Mr, and Mrs, Thomas
Stinson he was born and lived on this
place all his life. He was utunarried.
His father and mother, his brother,
Mr, Thos. Stinson, Babylon line, Stan-
ley, and his three sisters, Misses Susie
and Elizabeth Stinson, at home and
Mrs. E. Izzard, Montreal, survive. By
a tragic turn of fate, a cousin, James
Culham, aged 24 years; was killed the
