from the text, "We have seen his star
in the east and are come to worship."
The thence of this address, most ap-

subject was most ably dealt with by
the preacher. It was a fitting conclu-
sion.to the celebration and the series
of sernt, ans. A crowded church wel-
comed the Archbishop at St. James'
chiral, Middleton, at 3 p. m,, when
the holy and apostolic rite of confirm-
ation was administered to twelve' can-
didates. who were drawn froth the
three congregations of the parish.
Confirmation hymns and anthem were.
ably rendered by the choir. This an-
niversary has been :splendidly reeeiv-
ed and supported by the whole parish,
and many otliers , and has been an
occasion which will be remembered
long and gratefully by everyone .in
out congregations. The success of
this anniversary is largely due to the
efforts of the Rector, Rev. F. H.
Pauli, who for months has been pre-
paring for this event. The choir was
ably: assisted on both Sundays by
men -hens of St. John's choir, Varna.
