Council Meeting and Court of Re-
viaion.-A special meeting of the vil-
lage council was held, on Monday
evening before the court of revision.
The
reeve tth Mr eSaunde s, het he dgoat in
vern-
ment highway engineer for the dis-
trict, and he agreed to put in anotther
culvert on the highway in front of the
Robert McLaren farm, so the water
would go off faster, and he also
agreed to relieve the dust situation
on the London Road by immediately
putting on calcium chloride. The
reeve also stated that he had got in
touch with Mr. O'Reilly of Toronto,
sales agent for calcium chloride, and
he had agreed to place a car of cal-
cium chloride at Hensall station
about June 1st, at $27,21 a ton. Seve-
ral other plates around have given
orders. Most places are buying this
material for dust prevention and the
highway department is using it al-
most explosively and it is quite a bit
cleaner and cheaper than oil. The.
reeve stated that the roads would
have to .be graded to get the beat re-
sults from this material. It was mov-
ed by Mr. 'Ortwein end seconded by
Mr. Petty that -'we notify Mr. O'Reil-
ly to place a car at Hensall and we
will take what we need out of it.
Councillor Petty (brought up the mat-
ter of a new flag for the town hall.
stating that the old one•+rves worm out.
He was instructed to purchase a new
one. The council then adjourned to
open as a court of revision on the as-
sessment roll, every member having
taken their office. Mr. Alex, Smith
has made a number of appeals on dif-
ferent places on King Street, and on
some parts of tthe Geiger property.
Miss C. Mitchell had an appeal in
that her property was assessed too
high and there were two or three oth-
er appeals. It was moved by Coun-
cillors Sangster and Cameron that the
Geiger assessment be left as it was
and no business assessment was add-
ed as there was no amendment to the
motion. The chairman declared it
carried, The different appeals on
King street were left as they were,
except Dr. Camp'bell's, ashich was
raised $75 on his business tax. The
board felt that considering the 'busi-
ness depression in our small village
it was nottadvisable to make the bus-
iness assessment too high. Miss Mit-
chell's assessment was lowered $100
on the house and the business as-
sessment on the Steele Briggs Co.
was raised $200. The warehouse of
the Farmers' Co-operative Co. was
lowered $200. The rest of the as-
sessments were left as they were, The
court of revision then adjourned to
meet on Monday, Tune 3rd,
Mr. and Mrs. Thos. Drummond
and Miss Margaret Drummond of
Toronto, are spending a few days
with Mr, and Mrs. Earl Drummond.
The many friends of Mr. Thomas
Palmer Sr.. are glad to see him back
again and to see him hale and hearty.
Miss Alexia Murdock is home from
Toronto, where she went to get me-
dical treatment,
The many friends of Mr. Fred Sian -
mons are glad to see him out again
after his recent operation. •

Simple- Safe
and Dependable
HE Ford car fuel system is simple because
it is direct. Gravity flow does away with
forced feed. A short feed line with a mini•
mum. of elbows and connections is easy to
service and eliminates approximately 100
parts required by tie vacuum. tank .or fuel
pump system.
The nine gallon tank :issoplaced tha.tit i well
protected from front or rear end collision.
Any overflow runs off on the ground with
no serious results, since the only point of
possible spark contact is the rear end of the
exhaust. Three screens instead of one, as in
most fuel systems, prevent foreign matter
reaching the tank. A solid steel dash sep.
arates the Ford gas tank from the engine.
The gas wage on the dash of the Ford car is
controlled by a simple float as shown in
diagram, being more direct, simple and
accurate than any other type. Another
point of driving convenience made possible
by the gravity flow system is the ease with
which the tank may be filled, while the driver
supervises the operation without moving
from behind the wheel.
