E. J. Litt and family of Stratford.
Mr, and Mrs, John Darling spent
the week end with Logan friends,
The death took place at the home of
her daughter, Mrs. Joseph Donnelly,
of firs. James Feeney, who has been
ill for some time, Mrs. Feeney is the
last of a large family; her brother dy-
ing just a month ago. Her family
was called to her bedside. She was
an aged lady but very bright and
pleasant and always looked happy.
The funeral was held on Wednesday
at St. Patrick's Church, Dublin,

Death of Mrs, Owen Hart. — On
Friday morning, January the twenty-
fifth, death removed from our midst
Bridget ORReilly, beloved 'wife of
Owen Hart. Deceased was taken ill
about three Months ago and was tak-
en to 'Seaforth hospital, About six
weeks ago an operation was perform-
ed from which she never seemed to
rally. About a week ago she was ta-
ken to her home where she died early
riday morning fortified by the last
tes of the Church, administered by
ev..Fr. ,Dantzer. The late Mrs. Hart
was born on the third concession of
cKillop, forty-six years ago, the
atigh'ter of the late Mr. and Mrs.

sposition, beloved by all who came
contact with her, For several years

We were sorry to hear that 'Master
Willie Taylor had the misfortune on
Monday of .last • week to fall while
skating and badly hurt- and cut his
head, but are glad to know he is im-
proving and will soon be able to be
out again.

Alert Club last Wednesday evening.
A real good tune was enjoyed by all.

Hockey, —. On Thursday evening'
two very fast hocleey games were
played on the skating arena. In spite
of the chilly weather a large number
of hocieey fans were present to wit-
ness the match, Bill Robins and
CharlieHolstead (two life-long ene-
mies) ranged their teams about eight
o'clock and. the well -played game
started. It sure was a thriller! Both

thusiasm and stick handling of
Chucks gang. The Mill Road and the
Brick Yard were next to take up po-
sition, One couldn't see much of this
game because it was almost too fast
to follow. Talk about dazzling speed
and•breath-taking attacks. Oh boy!
It sure was .great! The Mill Road was
finally defeated .and the Brick Yard
walked off victorious.
,Y.P.S,—On Monday evening,' Janu-
ary 28th, the Young People' of Eg-
uondville and Rrucefield held a very
successful skating party-. The ice was
splendid, which contributed a great
Ileal to the good, time enjoyed by all.
After skating, a. social period was
held at the church. A light -lunch was
served.

port of the annual convention.

ing from their recent illness.
Mr. Joseph McCully, who has been
residing with his aunt, Miss Mary J.
McCully for the past few months, re-
ceived word last week of the sudden
passing of his mother-in-law, Mrs.
Moshier of Ashley, 'Ohio. He and
his son Jimmy left Brucefield on
Sunday morning in their motor car
to -attend her funeral.. Their many
friends extend their sympathy,
The Marion Oliver' Mission Circle
held their regular meeting on Friday
evening with Dorothy Broadfoot, the
president, in the chair. Mrs. Addison
had the devotional leaflet and Eva
Stackhouse • read the introduction to
the new study book, "The, Black Trea-
sure." Plans were discussed far a Va-
ient'inee party and a committee ap-
pointed to help the social convenor.
It was also decided to hold a birthday
party some time in the near future.
The next roll call is to be answered
by a favorite verse of poetry. .

Y.P.S. was held on Monday evening
in St. Andrews Church, There was a
fair attendance in spite of the incle-
ment weather. Meeting opened with
G. Leith Jr. in the chair. Prayer was
offered by DI. Barnby and the chair-
man read Scripture lesson. The topic --
of the evening was "Inventions and
Inventors," and was divided into four
parts, The part of Paper -'making, co-
vering the advance and methods used
in. thlis art was given by R. 13. Robin-
son. The Manufacture of China Cups
and Saucers was very ably covered by
Gladys Fawcett. The interesting- life
story of James Watt, Inventor, was
given by Geo. Leith Jr. and the in-
ventions and discoveries of William
Rontgen by Miss E. McGowan, A
recitation entitled "Scandal" was very
effectively given during the program
by Mrs, N. Garrett, and a very much
appreciated solo was rendered by
Miss M. Stewart. Meeting closed .witkt
