The Women's 'Missionary Society,
the Barbara Kirkman and the Marg-
aret Larkin C.G.I.T. held a joint meet-
ing on Tuesday evening, Mrs, Mc-
Lean, Pres. 4V.M!S,, m the chair. The
sleeting opened by singing hymn 202.
Mrs. Patterson read the Scripture les -
soon, 107th Psalm. Miss Edith 'vie -
Kay led in prayer, Miss Gretta Ross
read an excellent. paper on British
Guiana. After this the ladies' quar-
tette, Mrs. Wright, Miss F. Beattie,
Miss P, Patterson and Miss H. Mur-
ray, accompanied by Mrs. M. Rennie,'
rendered a number, "Can Jesus De-
pend an Ss'bu which was much en-
joyed. After this Miss Gretta Ross
explained the sides which she pre-
sented with the assistance of Mr,
Harry McLeod.

On Friday evening last Cecil Con-
nell and his father and mother were
driving in their car on the London,
four utiles south of Clinton; when
they suddenly carne upon .a .buggy
without a light. In an effort to avoid
crashing int' the buggy, Mr. ,Cottnetl's
car ran off the road and upset. No one
',vas injured, except for a severe shak-
ing tip, but the car was smashed bad-
ly. The buggy carried a lantern, but
the driver had neglected To light it
