groom were attended by Mr. and
Mrs, Richard Fox, of Beachviile,
brother-in-law and sister to the bride.
The bride, who was given away by
her mother, was charming in royal
blue crepe and parried a beautiful
bouquet of butterfly roses and lily -of -
the -valley. The bridesmaid was ex-
quisitivcly gowned in blue crepe-de-
chene. Following the ceremony, a

Mr. Peter Gardiner has sold his
house to. Mrs. Taylor, of Goderich,
formerly Westfield. 'Air.* and Mrs.
Gardiner intend retaking their home in
London but owing to Mr. Gardiner's
duties as Treasurer of Blyth, they will

giving with his parents, Rev. and Mrs.

Miss Annie Maines, of Toronto, was
a holiday visitor with her parents.
Two Accidents.—On Tuesday even-
ing about 7 o'clock a 1927 Ford sedan
struck fresh gravel 1% miles south of
here on the Londesboro road almost
in front of Wm. Lyons, somersaulted
a 5 -ft. ditch and struck the fence.
Of five people in the car, Mrs. Mc-
Keown and firs. Arnold. who were
the worst hurt. received .bad scalp
;rounds and other injuries. The ear
was one of a party of four London
cars returning from Chesley where
they attended the funeral of Rev. W.
Smith of Geneva Presbyterian church
and a former London pastor. The
upper part of the car was smashed to
pieces. Those in the car were lir.

escaped with a severe shaking -up.
They were unable to continue in the
storm to ,Bayfield to attend the speak.

Busby -Lawson. --A quiet but pretty,
wedding was solemnized at high noon
Thursday, Nov. 8th, at the'Parsonage,
Londesboro, the Rev. J. W. Johnston
officiating. when. Myrtle Irene, daa-
ghter of lir, and Mrs. 'Robert Law-
son, became the ;bride of John Ed-
ward, eldest son of Mrs. J Busby, :of
Toronto. The bride was becomingly
attired in mauve taffeta with cream
lace, and carried Madame Butterfly
roses and lily of the valley. Hiss
Edith Busby, sister of the groom, at-
tended the bride, wearing a frock of
maize flowered georgette and carry-
ing a bouquet of yellow mums. Mr,
Leslie Lawson, 'brother of the bride,
acted as best man. After the cere-
mony the wedding party motored to
the home of the bride, where dinner
was served in the presence of the im-
mediate relatives. Later in the after-
noon the couple left for, a Wort honey-
ntoon. The bride travelled in -a dress
of American Beauty georgette and
velvet navy coat with opposuni collar
and black satin 'hat, On their return
they will reside at the Parkview apart-
ments, 'Chatham.
The Midnight Rovers Club are be-
ing entertained on Friday night by
Miss Mabel Livingston.

MI. S. of the United Church was held
in the basement of the church on
Thursday, Nov. 8. The business part

vices on Sunday and a splendid gath-
ering attended 'both morning and ev-
