Mrs. John Moffatt,---:Alfter an illness

Christian woman passed away on Sat-
urday, October 6th, in the person of
Mrs. John Moffatt, to her 69th year,
A:Trs. Moffatt had been confined to bed
since July 9th at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Bert -McKay, London
Road. Born • near Toronto, Hannah
Myles, daughter of the late bir. and
Mrs, William Myles, spent her early
years at Exeter. At the age of d'S,
she was married to Mr, John Moffatt
and for mauny years they lived nn the
2nd concession of'Tuckersmith, Twen-
ty-six years ago they moved to the
farm on the London Road now oc-
cupied by their son Alfred, and lived
there until retiring to Clinton three
years ago., Mr. Moffatt predeceased
her a year ago last April. Two sons
and five daughters survive: Mrs, Dan,
Kilpatrick (Lilly), Saskatchewan;
Lawrence, Regina; birs. John Mc -
Beath (Alberta), Stanley; bins. An-
drew- McCartney (Lavine). Tuxford,
Sask.; Airs. John Armstrong (Mabel)
Stanley; Mrs. Bert McKay (Cather-
ine) and Alfred of the London Road.
Also two brothers and a sister:
George Myles, Brantford; and Wil-
liam Myles, and Mrs. Cower, Remit-
ter. The funeral on Monday was at-
tended by a large number of --friends

The .Harvest Thanksgiving service
was heli! in Trinity Church on Sunday
morning last at 11 o'clock and vvas
very ,cell attended. Captain Jackson'
of the Army Crusaders, took charge)
at the service. The choir was assisted
by some .of the members of Varna'
choir and sang the anthem, "Praise
Ve. the Lord." Airs. Paull and Miss'
L. Woods sang a cities in the anthem'
in a very pleasing manner. The
church was partly decorated with aut-
umn flowers, fruits, ,grain, etc. Capt.l

It was a red-letter day in
old Mrs. Jones' life --- the.
day she made her first

Distance call. But she sim-
ply had to speak to her son
before he went abroad!
The operator was sympa-
thetic and helpful. She ask-
ed Mrs. Jones her telephone
number, name, the city and
the telephone number of the
party she wished to reach.
Mrs. .Tones didn't know the
number, so the operator
looked it up for her.
After the pleasant experi-
ence was over, Mrs. Jones..,
exclaimed, "I never knew it
was so easy! Why didn't I
do it before?"
There is nothing compli-
cated about it. just say,
"Long Distance."

Mrs. John Moffatt, to her 69th year,

since July 9th at the home of her
daughter, Mrs. Bert -McKay, London
Road. Born • near Toronto, Hannah
Myles, daughter of the late bir. and
Mrs, William Myles, spent her early
years at Exeter. At the age of d'S,
she was married to Mr, John Moffatt
and for mauny years they lived nn the
2nd concession of'Tuckersmith, Twen-
ty-six years ago they moved to the
farm on the London Road now oc-
cupied by their son Alfred, and lived
there until retiring to Clinton three
years ago., Mr. Moffatt predeceased
her a year ago last April. Two sons
and five daughters survive: Mrs, Dan,
Kilpatrick (Lilly), Saskatchewan;
Lawrence, Regina; birs. John Mc -
Beath (Alberta), Stanley; bins. An-
drew- McCartney (Lavine). Tuxford,
Sask.; Airs. John Armstrong (Mabel)
Stanley; Mrs. Bert McKay (Cather-
ine) and Alfred of the London Road.
Also two brothers and a sister:
George Myles, Brantford; and Wil-
liam Myles, and Mrs. Cower, Remit-
ter. The funeral on Monday was at-

The operator was sympa-
thetic and helpful. She ask-
ed Mrs. Jones her telephone
number, name, the city and
the telephone number of the
party she wished to reach.
Mrs. .Tones didn't know the
number, so the operator
looked it up for her.
After the pleasant experi-
ence was over, Mrs. Jones..,
exclaimed, "I never knew it
was so easy! Why didn't I
do it before?"
There is nothing compli-
cated about it. just say,
"Long Distance."
