Death of Mr. George Dickson. --
There passed away -on Friday last,
. kugust 24th, 1928, at his late resi-
8ence, lot 25, con. 14, of the Town-
ship of MoKillop, Mr. George Dick-
son, in his sixtieth year, after a ling-
-:zing illness, which he bore with
great fortitude and resignation, to the
Will of Him who guides and directs
.a11 things well. Mr. Dickson was
corn on the neighboring homestead

:ate locality. Ile was the youngest
son of eight children, seven sons and
;,ne daughter, the family of the at
John and Mrs. Dickson, who were so
. greatly reverenced in the large circle
n the corntnunity in which they lived.
apart from his business as a farmer,
-Aft% Dickson was a great admirer as
well as a judge of good horses and
spent much of his time in the !buying
end handling of these animals. In
,his way and :being of a very friendly
:heeinful disposition, he made hosts
:,1 friends, as was amply attested in
the Targe assembly which was pres-
ent at his funeral ceremony to pay the
lust tribute of respect to departing

Scott, of Winnipeg; Robert, of Flint,
Mich.; 'Thomas, of Hensall, and W. 3,

Mrs. Forbes was a lifelong member
of the Anglican Church. The funeral
was held on August 24th froin her
son-in-law's residence, service "being
held at 2 o'clock. Rev.. J. M. Nicol,
pastor of Knox Presbyterian Church,
conducted the service. Interment
was made in \\rnodlawii cemetery.-

Mr. Thomas Clarke, Morris Town-
ship, west of Bresse1s, lost his barn
last Wednesday night when pigs up-
set a lighted lantern which exploded,
setting hay, on fire before Mr. Clark
cottld extinguish it. While attempting
t„ push' the binder' out of the barn he
severely injtu•ed his back,
Mrs. John Dundas, who has ,been
quite ill, was in a very serious ,eondi-
non on Wednesday at the home of her
daughter, Mrs, David Boyd.
Charlie Munn, son, of Mr. and Mrs,
Alex. Munn, is spending a week with
friends in Fergus.
Mr, Albert Clarke left last Thurs-
day for the West,
We are glad to hear that Mr. Cecil'
Gotland, of Fergus, who underwent
an operation for appendicitis in the
hospital last Tuesday, is improving.

Cora Forbes, daughter of W, S.
Forbes, Walton,
Mr. and Mrs. W. S. Forbes left Fri-
day for Fergus,

Sunday, Sept. 9th, Trinity Anglican
Churth will celebrate its Golden
Jubilee. Thc.services will be conclude
ed by the rector, Rev. W. Ib', Haw-
kins and His Grace, Archbishop Wil-
liams, of 'London, will take part in
the jubilee. At the vestry meeting
held in the 'Temperance Hall on Feb-
ruary 1st, 1878, it was decided to' build'
a church ansi to call it Trinity
Church. A lot was bought from the
Blyth Estate for $50.00. The contract
was let to Mr. Robert Howard at $37-
200. The corner stone was laid on
July 1st, 1878, -by the D. D. G. M, of
the A. F. & r\. M., and on December
29, 1878, the church was opened for
Divine Service by the Rector, Rev.
William Henderson, service being
-held at 11 a.m., 3 pin, and 7 p.m.

Rev.W B. Hawkins Leaving, His
Grace Archbishop Williams 'has an-
nounced the appointment of Rural
Dean W. h, 'Hawkins to the parish of
Forest. Rev, and Mrs, 'Hawkins and
fatnily•expect'to leave here about the
first of October, Mr, Hawkins has
h<co rector of Blyth, which includes,
the charges of Auburn and ,Belgrave,
since 1915. During these thirteen
years there has grown up in the com-
munity, among all denominations, a
feeling of sincere regard for the rec-
tor of Trinity 'Church, General .re-
gi'ct.is felt at his approaching retttoval,
and he is commended to the good pco•
plc in the larger field of endeavor to
which he is going, 'The town will

played a realty close and fast game.
