Mrs. Hayward returned to Clinton after her husband's •departure for England and has been residing here since H ;4a Pte. J, L. Heard, who went over- seas with the 161st battalion, re- turned home on Saturday eventing and was also given a public welcome. Pte. Heard had a fall from his horse while in England sustaining a bad- ly sprained ankle. 81e will return to London for treatment after a short leave with his wife and babe.
