Mr. Stanfield of Toronto, formerly of the staff of tbe Doherty Pianos, Lmtd., was a visitor in town over the week -end. Miss Cora Clut, who has been visit- ing her sister, Mrs. (Dr.) McBride Of Welland, for some months, has returned home. Miss Gertrude Wallis left on Moe - day for Toronto where she has en- tered for a special course in Vic- toria University. Mrs.. Frank McCaughey left on Tues- day for Peterboro, where Mr., Me- Caughey has taken a position and where they intend making their home. Pfeffer of Auburn, who had just, returned, from a fort- nights visit witb Detroit and Windsor friends, visited Mrs. J. G. Medd on her way home, Rev. W. Moulton was in Dresden on Friday last attending the funeral of the late Mrs'. Benjamin Moulton. Mr. Moulton is in Brantford this week. Mr. and Mrs. Will Hamblyn are both ill, it is feared, with typhoid fever and are under, the care of trained nurses. It is •supposed that they, contracted the disease while visiting in Bowmanville. Rev. J. A. Robinson is in Ottawa this week attending, the sessions of ' Sunday School Commission. W. R. Robertson, a higlily respect- ed citizen of Goderich, died at his home in that town on Sunday last at the age of eighty -Vine plats. The late Mr. Bobertsan came to Goderich in 1870 and had been a resident ever singe. He is survived by four sons: John, Dean of Victoria College, and Robert, barrister, both of Toronto, Williams kl., editor of The Goderich Signal and A. M., a member of the Goderich Collegiate staff, and two daughters, Miss Mary of tbe Windsor Collegiate staff arid Miss Margaret at home, Mrs. Robertson, who was formerly Miss Danny Smith, died some years. ago.
