His Wife died about thirty-five years

After an illness of only a few
weeks Mrs, Robert Young died, on
Monday morning at -her home here.
'The luneral took place an Wednesday
to Beird's cemetery. The bereaved
husband has the sincere sympathy of

I was very fortunate to receive a
very fine pair of soots knitted by you,

Our trenches are about knee-deep in
mud and water alter the recent rains,

very. much appreciated.
My batman picked me a pair and
said they were the best of the lot,
A lot of Canadian socks.eante to

on the Bronson Line, Nineteen years
ago he ' Moved to Sunny, Alberta
where he has done well.
Miss Margaret Peck has been engag-
ed as teacher in No. 3, Stanley, for
the remainder of the year. She is
the sixth teacher to assume charge
of this soiled in the space of three
years. It is to be Hoped that eli'11
Peck will remain with us for some
time. The trustees have had the
school remodeled, a veneer of cement
being put over the brick, Phis will
doubtless improve very much the ap-
pearance of elle, school -house.

visitor in Damp last Thursday.

Master Henry Sloman was a vis-
itor at the. Cttninghame camp over
the week -end.
Mr. Rees and Miss Mary Jenkins
of Clinton and Mr. and 1VIrs. Cox of
Porter's Hill were Sunday, visitors
at the :Vallis camp.
There were thirty-six present at
the Sunday school on Sunday and a
good collection was taken up, It is
by no means difficult to find officers
with experience in Sunday, school
work as among those present on
Sunday were the superintendent, sec-
retary, treasurer, primary. superin-
tendent and four teachers of the Wes-
ley church S. S. Besides these the
presidents of the W.C'.T.U. a and
W.M.S. and the organist of `Wes-
ley church were marked present on
the roll book.
Camp broke up this' week. On
Tuesday Mrs. Ilellyar and children
retirrnod_to town. On Wednesday the
McMath, Wallis, Rorke and Cuning-
hanie camps were deserted so that
nothing now remains of I3urk's but
hundreds of pleasant, memories.

Last Wednesday evening fire Incite

Dr. Rutledge's car, which was in
for repairs, was destroyed and two
cars owned. by Mr. .Johnston were
