Mr. and Mrs. W. Crawford en-
tertained a -few friends and neigh-
bors at a farewell party for IsIiss

shortly to reside in one of the
new senior citizens' apartments
in Mitchell. Euchre and crokinole
were played and lunch was serv-
ed. Miss Crawford was present-
ed with a set of dishes,

The September meeting of the
Ladies' Aid was held at the home
of Mrs. Gerald Carey, with the
president, Mrs. J. M. Scott presi-
ding and opening with a poem
"Take Time," Mrs. R. Laing read
the scripture lesson and conduct-
ed a Bible quiz. Mrs. T. L. Scott
led in prayer. During the business
period arrangements were discus-
sed for a turkey supper to be
held on October 24th.
The date for the annual bazaar
to be sponsored by the Ladies
Aid and Marian Ritchie Auxiliary
will be decided later, Mrs. T. L.
Scott favored with a solo. The
meeting closed with prayer.
Lunch was served by Mrs, M.
Dow and Mrs. E. Allen assisting
the hostess.
The September meeting of
Roy's Church UCW vvas held at
the home of Mrs. Roy Dow, Mit-
chell. The meeting was opened by
Mrs. Murray Christie with a poem
"The Pilot's. Cross." The theme
for Scripture and meditation, tak-
en by Mrs. Andrew Christie, was
"Strength of a Nation" followed
with prayer by Mrs, Erie Dow,
Mrs. Norman Dow gave readings,
'"rhe Reason why" and "Never
Wasted." Mrs. Calvin Christie
took her topic from the leaflet
"New Delhi Speaks Back," The
Meeting closed with a hymn and
prayer by Mrs. Murray Christie,
