Mrs. Russell Worden was host-
ess for the regular meeting of the
Staffa Women's Institute which
was held on Wednesday evening,
July 26. It was the Home Ec-
onomics and Health meeting with
Mrs, Wilbur Glanville presiding.
Mrs. Roy MacDonald read a
poem and the roll call was an-
swered by a recipe using a dairy
product. Mrs. Wilbur Glanville
bad as her topic "Homemaking."
Mrs. John Templeman gave a
live minute talk on the historical
background of the Maritimes and
Mrs. Gerald Agar read an inter-
esting paper on Hepititis. Mrs.
Russell Worden presided for the
business when final plans were
made for the community picnic
to be held at Seaforth Park on
Wednesday, Aug. 29. Mrs. Carter
Kerslake and Mrs. John Wallace
were asked to remain as leaders
for the Fall 4-11 course 'Cotton
Aecesories for the Club Girl's
Bedroom." The training school
for the 4-11 project and the ex-
tension course leaders is Sept.
6 and 7 in Mitchell. A thank you
note was read from Mrs. Leslie
Miller and Mrs. Tom Laing gave
a reading "Pantry Shelf." An auc-
tion sale. followed by a lunch of
fruit bread, cheese and coffee ser-
ved by Mrs. Wilbur Glanville and
Mra. Roy MacDonald brought
the meeting to a close.

Mitchell holidayed. with Ronnie
Miller.
Joan and Alien Coleman, Sea -
forth, aro holidaying with Brenda
and Craig Kerslake,

church, was carried, Reports

Lunch was served at the close.

children of Toronto are sanding
a few holidays with Mr. and Mrs.
Edwin Wood.

moved last Friday to their new
home in Blyth. During the past
four years which they spent in
this village they made many
friends and they will be missed
in the community.

The construction of the road
bed on the highway between
Clinton and Blyth will probably
be completed in a week's time,
and ready for the black top.
