"Deceived, deserted, friendless, my heart turned to bitterness, 1
wanted to die. But the Salvation Army found me. In their Home
for Unmarried Mothers I was well cared for. And understanding
hearts restored the will to live. It's a heart warming thing to know
that there is a place to turn Loin time of trouble."
The doors of The Salvation Army's havens, hospitals, homes and hostels
lead to relief and hope for men, women and children who have fallen
on evil days. This work needs your support. Won't you help to keep
these doors open? In aiding others you will bring joy to your own heart,

MAN'S BEST FRIEND
A Seaforth lady handed in this
verse from the Listowel paper.
we dogs have had it pretty tough
In Listowel, I'd say we've caused
quite a fuss
At first they said tie us up all
year round.
In that ease we'd be better off in
the pound.
They say we bite kids, and wreck
shrubs round the house
And scatter the garbage, on our
master's spouse,
But when we are chained, some
kids don't play fair,
They throw the odd stone, —
they don't have a care.
Then they untie us, and we
remember those things
And after them we go, now
watch theist run in rings!
And as for the trees, — just
watch when the snow is high
The kids will take a short cut
right through them and not
blink an eye.
So give us a chance, and turn us
loose
And if one of us goes wrong,
then throw him in the caboose
Then we'll all get along and in
the end
Listowel will say "Dog is man's
best friend,"
Hucklebury Hound.
