The first 'question w one with many parte, The majo ity feel a responsibility for th poorer nations. If Christianty had gone east instead of wes the people on the American con tinent might have been the back ward nations.sideofmissionaries, Ou tnuns es, doctors and preachers nd i structors, very few people ham given of their time to oasis these nations, 'but many -women through their clubs have given clothing for bales for the needy from west of Canada. Surplus foods have been sent in the past and we aro willing to give, sur plus again, but money is more available and more conveniently sent. Some in our group have contributed for Care, an organiz- ation, but we think we could have been more generous. We be- lieve Canada should give freely help in food to needy peoples of other lands. Some think that as a nation Canada as a whole should give one per cent of Can- ada's national product. One young man figured. it was going to' am- ount to a lot of money for him. and his family, and he 'was short of money.
