Wedding Anniversary Congrat-

Rapien, 60 years -married on

Church on Sunday from the

pien who celebrated their 60th
wedding anniversary on Sunday.
Next Sunday Youth Sunday
will be observed at St. Peter's
Lutheran Church with Seminar-
ian Marvyn Dubrick the guest
preacher. Several members of
the Luther League will also take

The Barbers' Association of
Perth County enjoyed a dinner
and social in the club room of
the Brodhagen Community Hall
last Wednesday evening.
On Saturday evening a show-
er was held for Mr. and Mrs.
Bernard Clarence (Joyce Quer-
engesser) at the Commnity Hall
here. They were presented with
cash and Franklin Hulick read
the address, Muellers' Orchestra
provided music. Lunch was serv-
ed,
Mr. Herman Leonhardt was
confined to Seaforth Hospital,
he underwent an operation on
his arm,
Miss Jean French is taking a
hairdressing course in Kitchener

their 55th wedding anniversary
on Monday, November 13th, Mrs.
Preuter was the former Emma
Bennewies. Mr. and Mrs. Preut-
er are members of St. Peter's
Lutheran Church, Brodhagen,
They have three daughters and
one son: Mrs. Norman (Edna)
Rode, of Detroit; Mrs. Gordon
(Vera) Bach, of London; Mrs.
Wilfred (Maude) Ahrens, Brod-
hagen, and Lloyd on the home
farm, RR 1, Bornholm, They also
have 11 grandchildren and one
great grand son,
Mr. and Mrs. Philip Rock, RR
1, Bornholm, quietly celebrated
their 55th wedding anniversary
on Monday, Nov. 13th, Mrs.•, Rock
was the former Emma Puschel-
berg and is an active member of
the United Lutheran Church Wo-
men, and they are members of
St. Peter's Lutheran Church and
for many years both sang in the
choir, They have a family of two
Sons and one daughter, George,
of RR 2, Walton; Harold, RR 1,
Bornholm, with whom the couple
reside, and Mrs. Fred A. (Viola)
Kistner of Brodhagen. There are
11 grandchildren and 4 great
grandchildren.
Chamber of Commerce Meeting
43 members were present at
the monthly dinner meeting of
the Brodhagen and District Cha-
mber of Commerce last Thursday
evening, George Rock, president
of the programme committee, re-
ported that supper meetings
would be held once a month dur-
ing the winter months. A request
was made from the Stewards of
the Christian Home (Married
Couples' Group of St. Peter's Lu-
theran Church) for help in fin-
ancing a hard toll to be put in
the church shed for a skating
rink, $300.00 was pledged to-
wards this, The property com-
mittee was to look Into material
for installing a ceiling in the

vestigating the possibility of ob-

The November meeting of the

Church was held at the home of
Mrs. Murray Christie, Mrs, Nor-
man Dow opened the meeting
with prayer whtch was followed
with a hymn. Mrs. G. Neil led
in the worship service, the theme
was "Remembrance", Mrs. Ross
McPhail led in prayer. The topic
which was taken from A. C. ,For -
rest's book "Not to -morrow -
Now", was given by Mrs. Andrew
Christie, Mrs. Harvey Dow 'fa-
vored with an instrumental. An
invitation to meet with the Mt.
Pleasant ladies on Nov., 15 was
accepted. Mrs. A. Christie and
Mrs. N. Dow were appointed as
program committee at the De
camber meeting which will be
held at the home of Mrs. Fred
Johns. Mrs. S. Grahm gave a
reading and Mrs. N, Dow closed
the meeting with prayer, Lunch
was served at the close of the

The regular monthly meeting
of the Township of Hullett Was
heid Nov. 6 in the Community
Hall at Londesboro at 1,30 in the
afternoon. The Reeve and all the
Councillors were present.
The minutes of the previous
meeting were read and adopted
as read. The Curt of
Court Revision

then convened to hear appeals
against- the assessment roll for
1962. Mr, Alexander, the County
Assessor was present. There was
only one appeal and it was dis-
missed with 'no change in, assess-
ment

A, petition was received; for a
municipal drain, from Mr. Clam
Longhurst and others and the
Clerk was instructed to forward
the petition to Mr. James A.
Howes O.L.S. Listowel so that a

The annual bylaw was passed,
setting the dates for nominations
and election if necessary. Nomin-
ations are to be held on the 24th
day of November, in the com-
munity Hall, Londesboro at 1 0'
clock in the afternoon and at 2
o'clock there will be a meeting
01 the ratepayers of the munici-
pality. If an election is necessary
the polls will open at 9 o'clock
a.m. on Dec, 4, and will close at
5 p.m, Dec. 4. All times are EST.

Hall is nearing completion and

nave of the church. We welcome
the leaguers who were kidnapp-
ed for coming and hope they will
continue to do so.
About 200 attended and enjoy-
ed a minstrel show presented by
St. Thomas' Anglican Church of
Seaforth with a cast of 28 at the
Brodhagen and District Commun-
ity Hall on Monday evening,
sponsored by the Stewards,. of
the Christian Home (Married
Couples Group) of St. Peter's Lu-
theran Church, Brodhagen, Re-
freshments 'were served to the
cast by the members of the
Stewards of the Christian Home
following the show,

the Dominion hotel, Zurich, on
Wednesday evening, Nov. 8th, to
honor Mr. and Mrs. Wilbur Mil-
ler on their 45th wedding. anniv-
ersary. After dinner everyone
went to the home of Mr. and Mrs.
Kenneth Duncan for the remain-
der of the evening. Those atten-
ding were Mr. - and Mrs. Wilbur
Miller and Kenneth, Mr. and
Mrs. John Miller, Mr. and Mrs
Russell Miller, Lee and Teresa,
all of Staffs, Mr. and Mrs. James

Mrs. Sam Norris for a social ev-
ening. Mrs. Bert Daynard was
chairman for the evening and
sing -songs and contests were en-
joyed. During the evening Mrs,
Jim Lyall (the former Ethel Mae
Norris) was presented with an
armchair and walnut magazine
rack. Ethel Mae thanked every-
one and a delicious lunch was
served.
On Saturday afternoon the Wo-
men's Institute had a booth at
Mrs. Ed. Butson's sale, Over $20.
was cleared for Institute work.
Thursday evening dinner
guests with Gail Agar were Julie
Ann Elliott and Darlene Temple-
man, The occasion was Gail's
9th birthday.

Teachers College spent the week

Mr. Arthur Kemp had the mis-
fortune to get his right hand
caught in the plow Thursday af-
ternoon. Several stitches were
required to close'the wounds.
