The Senior WMS of First Pres- byterian Church held their thank - offering meeting in the church on Tuesday, Sept. 21. Miss Camp- bell opened the meeting with a reading, Let us be thankful. Miss J essie Fraiser read the scripture. Mrs. Russell gave a reading on thanksgiving customs, Mrs. Mc-, Gregor and Miss Hattie Murray received the offering. Mrs. Cairns favored us with a beautiful solo, accompanied on the piano by Mrs. Geddes. Mrs, Elder introduc- ed the guest speaker, Mrs. Mc- Clure from Milverton, who gave a very inspiring address, on the need of workers, saying there was no hunger for God in the world of today. Mrs. Bell thanked the speaker. Mrs. J. W. Thomp. son closed the meeting with prayer. The ladies served a deli- cious lunch and a social half hour was spent. Balloting for election of Offi- cers took place as follows: Pres„ Margaret MacGregor; Vice Pres., Janice Jewitt; Sec., Linda Nott; Treas., Mary Buchanan; pianist, Glenyce Jewitt and Joyce Brown alternately, Mrs. Reg, Lawson. will be the leader for the coming year. Webster, Toronto and grandson of Mrs. Mary Dorrance of Seaforth. The bride wore a white satin wedding dress with satin pill -box headdress and finger-tip veil. Her bridal bouquet contained white roses and stephanotis and she wore the groom's gift, a necklace of pearls. The bridesmaid was Miss Ruth Gustafson of Toronto who wore an ankle -length dress of blue organza with pill -box headdress of yellow mums and tulle and carried a bouquet of yellow mumsThe groom. was at- tended by Mr. Victor Clayton of Toronto, who was a school chum of Mr. Webster, The bride entered the living - room on the arm of her father to the strains of the wedding march played by the bride's aunt, Mrs. Allan Burnt of Owen Sound. The soloist was Mrs, Jean Kearns of Meaford who sang "A wedding Prayer". The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Ford of Hamilton, a former pastor and personal friend of the Burns fam- ily, Mr, Robert Burns, the bride's brother greeted the guests as they arrived, The house was very tastefully decorated with white gladiolus, The bride's mother wore a gown of navy taffeta with hat to match and corsage of pink roses. The groom's mother was attired in blue printed dress and blue liat With corsage bf pink. roses. The bride's paternal grand - Mother, Mrs. J, Burns, Sr., was able to be present wearing navy blue and corsage of white mums, The groom's maternal grandmother, Mrs, Mary Dor- rance of Seafortk was present, wearing a pale green printed dress with corsage of white mums. After the guests had greeted the bridal couple a very delicious wedding supper was served by severalt o ' of h bride's l e s relatives and girl friends.
