CROP REPORT
A. week of excellent weather
has aided the farmers to harvest
:a great deal of their grain. There
is yet at least 25% of the crop
to thresh and combine.
Considerable harvesting of
beans has taken place with yields
of "not worth harvesting" to "35
bushel crop" reported—quality is
reported good. Turnip men are
reporting "cracks" from too fast
a growth,
Heavy movement of steers out
and into the area are taking
place.
Silage- and grain corn are ma-
turing fast and it won't be long
before the job of filling silos will
he upon the farmers.

of Mr. and Mrs. Robt, Wyatt,
London, and the groom is the
son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Rau of
Egmendvilie, Rev. Monsignor
Flannery sang the Nuptial Mass.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father. She wore a
floor -length white gown with
long train, with long sleeves. Her
flowers were orchids. Maid of
honor was Dianne Wyatt, Lon-
don, sister of the bride and Mar-
garet Ann Rau, sister of the
groom was bridesmaid. They
wore identical dresses of gold
brocaded satin and carried
mums. Peter Jeffery, Zurich, cou-
sin of the groom, was best man.
The flower girl was a niece of
the bride, Ushers were Harold
Siemon, Go der i c h, and the
bride's brother-in-law of Windsor,
The wedding dinner was serv-
ed at the Seven Dwarfs, London,
and the afternoon was spent at
the home of the bride's grand-
mother. After a wedding trip to
Niagara Falls and Buffalo, Mr.
and Mrs, Rau will reside at Lon-
don.

Miss Flora Anne Scott and Mr,
Ronald Gerald McAllister of
Seaforth were united in marriage
ill a pretty ceremony at North-
side United Church, Seaforth, on,
Saturday, Sept. 9 at 2 p.m. with
Rev, J. C. Britton officiating. The
bride is the -daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Arnold Scott, R,R. 1, Sea -
forth, and the groom is the son
of Mr, and Mrs, Earl McAllister,
Goderich.
Given in marriage by her fa-
ther, the bride wore a waltz -
length gown of nylon lace over
taffeta with scoop neckline trim-
med with lace roses, French illu-
sion veil with lace applique was
held by a tiara of seed pearls and
rhinestones. Her accessories in.
chided one strand of pearls and
drop earrings. She carried a
mauve orchid on a white Bible.
Matron of honor, Mrs. George
Tanney, R.R. 1, Seaforth, sister
of bride was gowned in a dress
of green frothy sheer nylon over
taffeta, cross over neckline, cum-
merbund effect and a gathered
all 'round skirt, She wore a
matching ruffled headdress trim-
med with yellow and white dais-
ies and pearl necklace and ear-
rings, a gift of the bride, Miss
Barbara Scott, R.R. 1, Seaforth,
sister of the bride was brides-
maid, gowned identical to the
matron of honor, Flower girls
Misses Faye Tunney and Nancy
Scott, nieces of the bride were
dressed in lilac sheer nylon Bon-
nie Brae party dresses over ray-
on taffeta with white rayon and
nylon lace trim. They wore pearl
necklaces and bracelets, gifts of
the bride and carried nosegays of
yellow pom-poms, Mrs. John Hen-
derson, RR. 5, Seaforth was or-
ganist with Dianne Henderson
singing "The 'Wedding Prayer"
and "0 Perfect Love". The best
man was George Tunney, R.R. 1,
Seaforth, and the guests were
ushered by Mr. Laverne Scott,
Seaforth, brother of the bride,
and Mr. Dennis McAllister, God-
erich, brother of the groom.
Following the ceremony a re-
ception was held in the Orange
Hall, Seaforth. Guests were re-
ceived by the bride's mother,
wearing a beige organza dress,
over printed silk with beige ac-
cessories and a corsage of yel-
low carnations. The groom's mo-
ther assisted wearing a peacock
silk crepe sheath dress with
pleated skirt, boat neck • and
three -quarter -length sleeves and
flounce from waist. Beige acces-
sories and corsage of yellow car-
nations.
Guests were present from Lon-
don, Brantford, Goderich, Bruce -
field, Egmondville, Seaforth and
Drumbo.
For travelling to Northern On-
tario the bride wore an elegant
white sheath dress of rich em-
bossed rayon faille with three-
quarter -length sleeves with white
bunny fur cuffs and white acces-
sories and a mauve orchid cor-
sage. The couple will reside in
Egmondville,
WATSON - ELLIS
The marriage took place on
Sept. 2nd at 2 p.m. at the, Protes-
tant chapel, RCAF, Clinton, of
Iris Ellis and AC Richard George
Watson of Camp Borden (RCAF).
The bride is the daughter of Sgt.
and Mrs. L. V. Ellis, RCAF Sta-
tion, Clinton, and the groom is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. James
Watson, Brantford street, Sea -
forth, Padre Bingham officiated.
Decorations were white gladioli
and snapdragon.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father and wore a
ballerina length white nylon chif-
fon.dress with simulated sequins,
nylon tulle veil with tiara of
pearls and rhinestones. Her flow-
ers were red roses. Anne Ellis
was her sister's bridesmaid, and
wore a mauve bell-shaped knee
length dress, mauve hat, white
shoes and gloves, yellow roses.
Best man was Ronald MacKenzie
of Hamilton. Ushers were AO
Cameron Young and AC Barney
Lucas.
The bride's mother wore pink
satin dress with nylon net over-
skirt, white accessories, corsage
of pink carnations. The groom's
mother wore beige nylon over
taffeta with white accessories,
corsage of yellow roses. The re-
ception was held at the home of
Mr. and Mrs. James Watson. For
a honeymoon to Niagara Falls
the bride wore a mauve linen
suit with white accessories, They
will reside at Alliston, Camp
Borden, Guests were present
from Hamilton, Windsor, Galt,
Ottawa, London, Clinton, Sea-
forth, Blyth and Camp Borden.
