WATSON The death occurred on Tues- day evening, Aug. 1, in Scott Memorial Hospital of Robert P. Watson, Brucefield, a former Tuckersmith Councillor, follow- ing a year's illness, Mr. Watson was in his 78th year. Born in Stanley Township, he was edu- cated at S.S. 3, Tuckersmith and was married at Clinton on Oct. 29, 1914, to Janet Burdge who predeceased him on Sept. 19, 1960. Surviving are two daugh- ters and a son: Margaret, Mrs. Gilbert Beecroft, Belgrave; Miss Janet Watson, Aylmer, and Ro- bert M. Watson, London; also four grandchildren, Mr. Watson was a member of Brucefield 'Un- ited Church and had been an Elder and Clerk of the Session for 36 years. He was formerly a. member of Tuckersmith Council and was very active in communi- ty welfare. The body will remain at the G. A. Whitney Funeral Home, Goderich St., Seaforth, until noon, Friday, Aug. 4, and the funeral service will be held in Brucefield United Church at 2.30 pm. The minister, Rev. A. H. Johnston will officiate. Inter- ment will be in Bayfield Ceme- tery. CROMARTY WALKER- TURCOTTE The wedding took place in the Cromarty Presbyterian Church on Saturday, July 29th at 2.30 o'clock, of Mary Iva Lorraine Turcotte and Alex Otto Oswald Walker of London. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Hector Turcotte of Kirkland Lake, and the groom is a son of Mr, and Mrs. Otto Walk- er alker of Cromarty. The church was decorated with gladioli and ferns. Rev. Samuel Kerr officiated, The organist was Mrs. Kenneth McKellar who played the traditional wedding music. The soloist was Mrs. R, Delaney of London, who sang Wedding Prayer, and 0 Perfect Love. The bride given away by her father, wore a Queen Anne style costume with net over satin, tiara of pearls and rhinestones. She carried red roses. Matron of honor,. Mrs, Leona Turcotte of London, wore a cock- tail ocktail length costume of nylon over net in copen blue with white ac- cessories. She carried daisies. The bridesmaids, Mrs, Dorotby Rexgrose of Kirkland. Lake, and Miss Marion Dunnell of London, wore cocktail length dresses of nylon over net in eopen blue with white accessories, and car- ried daisies. The best man 'was Kenneth Walker of London, brother of the groom. -Ushers were Paul Tur- cotte, London, and Hugh Currie, Dorchester, The wedding dinner took place at the Cromarty Church, decorat- er With streamers, bells and vara 4- ens summer flowers. The bride's travelling costume for the honeymoon at Kirkland Lake was a two piece mauve suit with white accessories and cor- sage of yellow roses. They will reside in Loudon. Guests were present at the wedding from Kirkland Lake, London, Cobalt, Dorchester, Staf- fa, Seaforth, Mitchell. The bride's mother wore a mauve suit and white accessories, corsage of yellow roses. Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Alex Gardiner were Mr. and Mrs. Bernell Wilker, Brenda and Barrie, and Mrs. Millie Idea of Sarnia; Mr. and Mrs. Earl Eg- gert and Murray, and Mr. Henry Eggert of Rostock. Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Russell and Margaret Jean left on Thurs- day for a motor trip to the East Coast. Mr. and Mrs. L. Poulton of Brampton visited recently at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Calder McKaig, Mr. and Mrs. R. Dodds visited on Sunday with Mr. Melvin Dodds at Auburn. Mr. and Mrs. Will Hamilton visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Will Sillery of Exeter. Richard and Robert Binning of Mitchell are holidaying with their grandparents, Mr. and Mrs, K, McKellar. Miss Carol Ann Dow is holiday- ing with her cousin bliss Jo Ann Dow. Miss Laura Chappel visited last week with her aunt Mrs, Fischer of Guelph. SEAFORTH DAIRY CLUB The third regular meeting Of the Seaforth 4-H Dairy Club was held at the farm of Gordon Pap- ple on July 11, 1961. The meet- ing opened with the members re- peating the 4-H pledge followed by the minutes of the last meet- ing and the roll call. Final de- tails were given for the bus trip and Mac Stewart introduced Dr. Wm. Drennon who spoke to us on Animal Health. Mr. J. McTag- gart gave us a dairy quiz after which lunch was served by the hostess and the lunch committee.
