DIRECTOR RESIGNS
*The Board of Directors of the
Children's Aid Society of Huron'
County have accepted with re-
gret the resignation of the Rev.
R. G. MacMillan as Local 'Direct -
Mr.: MacMillan wag President
of the Board for almost 10 years,
took over his ,present post last
'October, succeeding' Mrs. M. P.
Chaffee, The resignation takes
effect on August 31st,,1961.
Mr. MacMillan is returning to
the active ministry and will be
accepting a call to Knox Pres-
byterian Church, Oakville, Ont.

Visiting Manitoba
Bill Strong, RR 2, Dublin, Pre-
sident of the Huron County Jun-
ior Farmers Association, left on
Monday morning from Melton
airport to spend two weeks visit-
ing Junior Farmers in the Pro-
vince of Manitoba. This trip is
sponsored by the Junior Farmers
Association of Ontario as one of
several travelling scholarships
whereby outstanding Juniors in
the province are given the op-
portunity of observing similar
organizations in other parts of
Canada, the U,S,A., and Great
Britain.
Bill is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Leonard Strong, RR 2, Dublin
and was awarded the trip on the
basis of his contribution to the
Junior Farmer program in Ont-
ario as well as Huron County.
He has also had an outstanding
record in 4-H work culminated
last year by his winning the El-
ston Cardiff Citizenship Trophy.
While in Manitoba, Mr. Strong
will visit Junior Farmers in the
Boissevain areas and should .be
an excellent ambassador for On-
tario's Junior Farmers,
AUBIN—WALTERS
The wedding took place in St.
James' Roman Catholic Church,
Seaforth, on Saturday, June 24th,
of Helen Hazel Walters and Don-
ald Louis Andre. Aubin, with Rev,
Father Durand of Dublin officiat-
ing. The bride is the youngest
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bert
Walters, Brucefield, and the
groom is the youngest son of
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Aubin, Sea -
forth. Flowers in the church
were pink and white peonies.
The bride was given in mar-
riage by her father *and wore a.
floor -length wedding dress of
silk nylon and net over taffeta,
nylon appliqued with lace and
sequins, lily point sleeves, her
headdress a nylon and sequin
crown, finger tip veil of nylon,
and she carried red roses.
Mrs. Maurice Finkbeiner, of
Zurich, sister of the bride, and
Mrs. Lloyd Aubin of Goderich,
sister-in-law of the groom were
the attendants, and wore identi-
cal blue dresses of French nylon
silk lace with white flowered
headdresses, white accessories
and white carnation bouquets.
Lloyd Aubin of Goderich was
best man for his brother and Bob
Walters of Brucefield, brother
of the bride, also attended the
groom.
The ushers were Vic Aubin of
Guelph, brother of the groom,
and William Walters of Kitchen-
er, brother of the bride.
Mrs. Alice Stiles was organist
and accompanied the soloist, Mrs.
Mel Acheson of . Seaforth, who
sang "O. Mother Dear" and "Pan -
is •Angeline.
Dinner was served at the Le-
gion Hall, Seaforth, and a buffet
supper at the bride's home at 6
o'clock, The bride's mother wore
a white arnel dress with mauve,
white accessories and white car-
nation corsage. The groom's
mother wore a beige dress with
yellow flowers, white carnation
corsage and white accessories.
After a wedding trip to North-
ern Ontario, Mr. and Mrs. Aubin
will reside in Seaforth. For trav-
elling the bride wore a two-piece
white bengaline dress with em-
broidered flowers, white -access-
ories, blue carnation corsage
and blue shoes. Guests were from
Breslau, Guelph, Kitchener, Lon-
don, Goderich, Zurich, Seaforth,
Brucefield, Clinton,

New Town Clerk
Lyle Hammond of Seaforth
was appointed new town clerk
and' treasurer of Seaforth on
Saturday by the town council.
Mr,' Hammond will assume his
new duties on August 14th, but

Lyle Hammond
will start working in the munici-
pal office at the town hall on
July 17th to become familiar
with routine,
Mr. Hammond is presently of-
fice manager at Seaforth Lum-
ber Ltd. He is organist and choir
leader - at Egmondville United
Church and also leader of Sed -
forth Highlanders Band.
He will succeed D. H. Wilson
who retires in August after 25
years as clerk -treasurer.
There were 18 applications
for the position, half being local
and half from out of town, Six
of the applicants were inter-
viewed
nterviewed on Saturday afternoon
by members •of the town council.

Northside United Church, Sea -
forth, was the setting of a pretty
wedding on Saturday, June 24th,
when Helen Adeline Mclhvain
became the bride of John Doug-
las Crozier, Rev. J. C. Britton
officiating. The bride is a daugh-
ter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Mcll-1
wain, RR 1, Clinton, and the
groom is a sop of Mr. and Mrs.
Andrew E. Crozier, RR 2, Sea -
forth.
The wedding music was played
by Mrs. James A. Stewart, or-
ganist, who accompanied Mrs.
Pamela Sadler of Holmesville,
who sang "The. Wedding Prayer"
and "0 Perfect Love." Church
decorations, white and pink pe-
onies and fern. Given in marriage
by her father, the bride wore a
beautiful gown of silk organza
with scalloped neckline, sequin -
trimmed lily -point sleeves, fitted
bodice with full flowing skirt
with a back panel held by two
bows, skirt had chapel train also
highlighted with sequins, a head-
dress of Swedish crown of pearls
and rhinestones held by a finger-
tip veil of hand rolled French
tulle illusion, She carried a white
Bible crested with pink Sweet-
heart roses and stephanotis.
Her attendants were Mrs. Geo.
Mcllwain Jr. of Seaforth as mat-
ron of honor and Miss Ruth Cro-
zier, sister of the groom, as the
bridesmaid. They wore identical
semi -formal dresses of white ny-
lon over taffeta with blue cum:
merbund, and carried white bas-
ket of Shasta daisies.
James McIntosh, of Tucker -
smith, cousin of .the groom, was
best man. Ushers were George
Mcllwain Jr. and Neil and Don
Crozier.
Following the ceremony dinner
was served in the church base-
ment, catered by two of the wo-
men's groups. Decorations were
howls of roses on the tables, and
pink candles and the wedding
cake on_ 'the head table. The
bride's mother wore blue lace
with white accessories and the
groom's mother wore a beige
lace dress and matching acces-
sories.
For travelling the bride wore
a blue chiffon silk sheath dress
and matching three-quarter dust -
ter with white accessories and a
corsage of Sweetheart roses. On
their return they will reside on
the groom's farm, Seaforth, RR
2. The bride is a graduate of
Stratford General Hospital
School of Nursing and the groom
a graduate . of O.A.C., Guelph.
Guests from a distance at the
wedding were from Wingham,
Goderich, Clinton, Kincardine,
Elliott Lake, and surrounding
district.
VALVE BREAKS
The fire truck had a run to
Elliott's restaurant Saturday
morning when the control valve
ona gas burner broke and flared
up. The alarm was turned in as
a precautionary measure. Mr,
Elliott had the flames completely
out when the firemen arrived.
There was no damage,

MISS SUSANNAH STINSON
Miss Susannah Stinson, 77, of
Varna, died Wednesday at Ear-
onview, Clinton. She was born
in Varna, a daughter of the late
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Stinson.
The only survivors are two sist-
ers, Miss Elizabeth Stinson, Hur-
onview, Clinton, and Mrs. Ernest
(Kate) Izzard, Montreal. The
funeral service was held Friday
at 2 p.m. at the Ball and Match
funeral home, Clinton. Mr. Craig'
Peters, of Clinton Baptist Church
officiated. Burial was in Bayfield
cemetery. - -

The marriage took place in
St. Thomas' Anglican Church,
Seaforth, on June 17th at '4.30
p.m. of Mayda Leone Beuermann
and Ronald George Scorns, The
bride is the daughter of Mrs.
Leslie Beuermann of Waterloo
and the late Leslie Beuermann,
The groom is the son of Mr, and
Mrs. Norman Scoins, Seaforth,
The Rev, • H. Donaldson officiat-
ed, •lowers in the church were
bouquets of white shasta mums
and white snapdragons adorning
the altar.
The bride was given in marri-
age by her brother-in-law, Mr.
Wilber Chambers and wore a
floor -length gown of silk organ-
za. The fitted bodice was styled
with lace capped sleeves and a
scoop neckline. The full skirt
was appliqued with lace flower
inserts. A full blown rose of silk
held her new shoulder -length
boufeant veil. She carried white
shastas with white carnations
and green stephanotis leaves.
Miss Joanne Beuerman Of Tor-
onto was maid of honor gowned
in a dress of white organza over
blue taffeta featuring a Scallop-
ed embroidered bolero, accented
by a deep blue cummerbund.
Her flowers were a basket of
white shasta daises complement-
ed by blue tulle.
The bridesmaids were Mrs.
Wilber Chambers, Preston, Miss
Claire Hackwell, London, gown-
ed in dress of mauve in an ident-
ical style to that of the maid of
honor. They carried baskets of
shasta daisies complemented by
mauve tulle,
Deborah Ann .Chambers was
flower girl in a short white frock
made like the senior attendants.
Ring bearer was John Chambers,
Raymond Sceins of Seaforth
was best man. Ushers were Doug-
las Colbourn, Toronto, and Bill
Roberton, Barrie.
Mrs. John Cardno of Seaforth
was organist. Miss Faye Love,
of Walton, sang The Lord's
Prayer and The Voice That
Breathed O'er Eden.
The wedding dinner took place
at the Commercial Hotel. The
bride's mother wore an eggshell
re -embroidered dress with
matching accessories, deep pink
hat and a corsage of Sensation
roses, The groom's mother wore
a dress of flowered chiffon, white
accessories, corsage of white
roses,
For travelling the bride wore
a raspberry suit with black and
white accessories and a corsage
of pale pink carnations. Mr, and
Mrs. Scoins will reside at Hitch-
ener.
