MAE LANE AUXILIARY The Mae Lane and guests met Monday evening in the Church School room for a Spring Thank - offering meeting. The meeting was opened by a Meditation on the Lord's Prayer. President, Mrs. Neil Bell welcomed the guests who represented the Senior WMS and the Barbara Kirkman of First Church. There were two very fine musical numbers contributed dur- ing the evening, a piano solo "Je- sus Lover of my Soul" with varia- tions by Miss Jean Hillen and a vocal solo "The Beautiful Garden of Prayer" by Miss Donna Berger. Mrs. Glen Steffen introduced Mrs. Rev. H. Donaldson of St. Thomas' Anglican Church who was guest speaker, Mrs. Donaldson showed slides of her recent visit to Chile which proved most interesting as" she was able to give a very color- ful commentary having spent many years in this country work- ing in the mission fields. She was thanked by Miss Thelma Elgie. The meeting drew to a close with the, singing of hymn 252 and the Benediction. A delicious lunch was served by group in charge. Arrange- ments were discussed to hold a baking sale in May and a straw- berry tea in June. Altar duties were assigned and the Altar vases will be replaced. Mrs. Donaldson gave an interesting talk on Chili, the earthquake and tidal waves. Lunch was served by the ladies. Given in marriage by her father the bride wore a floor -length gown of white lace and nylon tulle over satin, Her finger tip veil was held by g train o$ se• gums and seed pearls. She car- ried a bouquet of rod roses and white stephanotis. Mr, and Mrs. Visser will reside at RR 1, Courtland, Ontario. SJAARDA—POSTMA The Christian Reformed Church, Clinton, was the setting for the marriage of Marilyn Post - ma, daughter of Mr. and . Mrs. Bert Postma, RR 2, Dublin, Ont. and Harly Sjaarda, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ted. Sjaarda, RR 4, Clin- ton. Rev L. Slofstra officiated at the ceremony and. K. Guetter was organist. Given in marriage by her father the bride wore -white gown styled with chope train, The Alencon lace bodice featured a scalloped neckline embroidered with seed pearls and rhinestones and lily -point sleeves, Alencon lace inserts were embroidered on the skirt and two small bows trimmed the front. A queen's crown held her nylon tulle veil and she carried a nosegay of Am- erican beauty roses. Miss Grace Postma, RR 2, Dublin, was maid of honor wearing a dress of mauve silk organza over taffeta, the bodice inserted with lace. She wore a matching hat of feathers and flowers. The flower girl was Miss Tineke Postma, who wore a dress of light blue nylon over taffeta and a matching bow head- piece. Geo. Sjaarda„ RR 2„ Brus-• Bels was best man and the ushers were Cor Greydanus and Mike Dykstra, A reception was held in the church annex. For a wed- ding trip to Northern Ontario the bride, chose a light green tweed suit. 1VIr. and Mrs. Sjaarda will reside at RR 2, Dublin. HENSALL Mrs. Grace Harpole and Mrs. Olive Horton visited over the weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Stan- ley Mitchell, ChiseIhurst. 25th Wedding Anniverasry Mr. and Mrs. Egbert Faber were pleasantly surprised on Sat- urday evening when a' number of relatives, friends, and neighbors honored them on their 25th wed- ding anniversary. The event was held in Orange Hall, ' Bayfield. A movie film was shown and sev- eral selections were given on the piano accordion. Mrs. Robert Kerslake, Exeter, read. the pres• entation address. A' shower of gifts were presented including a silver tea service, chair, footstool, smoker, silver candle holders, ail• ver vase and flowers and a num- ber of cups and saucers., Refresh ments were served. Mr. and Mrs. Egbert Fa'ber were surprised.,at their home on Mon- day evening when 25 neighbours gathered to celebrate their 25th wedding anniversary. Progressive Euchre was played. The prize winners were ladies, high, Miss Dianne Faber. Gent's high, Mr. Howard Lemmon, Mrs. Allan Johnston read the accompanying address and Mrs. Wilmer Jones presented Mr. and Mrs. Faber with a wall mirror. Refreshments were served. Mrs. Gordon Schwalm -was the guest of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Forrest, in Sarnia, while attend- ing the London -Hamilton' Synodi- cal held there. Mrs. Schwalm was a delegate from the Arnold Cir- cle Evening Auxiliary. Arnold Circle Mrs. A. Orr presided for the April meeting of the Arnold Cir- cle Evening Auxiliary held in the school room of Carmel Presbyter- ian Church, Monday evening, Mrs. Orr was in charge of the' worship assisted by Mrs. Gordon' Schwalm, The Easter Theme was taken from the Glad Tidings. Mrs. Gor, don Schwalm gave a detailed re- port on the London -Hamilton Synodical meeting which she at- tended in Sarnia as 'a delegate from the Auxiliary. A discussion arose over sending a delegate to the Synodical meeting to be held in London, May 5th, 6th. and 7th. Mrs. Harry Hoy gave the treas- urer's report and also reported for the Supply. The Auxiliary are to send their donation early in June and all members are asked to hand their donations to Mrs, Hoy at their earliest convenience, Miss Hannah Murray gave a re, port of the Presbyterial meeting held in Clinton. Mrs. Lloyd Mous• seau and Mrs. Harry. :,Hoy are hostesses for the May meeting and Miss Hannah Murray will have charge 'of the worship. Re freshments were served with Mrs. Stewart Bell and Mrs. Gard. on Troyer hostesses. Mr. and Mrs. Keith Wonnacott and family were recent visitors with relatives in London. Leslie Elder Of Seaforth performed the ceremony and traditional wedding music was played by Mrs. Malcom Dou• gall, The bride given in marriage by her father, wore a floor -length gown of chantilly lace and nylon tulle, fitted bodice, sabrina neck line embroidered in iridescent se quins, lily -point sleeves and skirt of alternate ruffles of lace and nylon tulle. Matron of honor was Mrs, Ronald Passmore, London, sister of the bride who wore a mauve Street -length dress of net over silk. She carried a bouquet of white and mauve carnations, Lloyd. Following a reception held in the Dominion Hotel, Zurich, the couple 'left for a wedding trip to Niagara Falls. The bride chose a green andwhite stroller suit with white and green accessories and a corsage of white carnations.
