The church was tastefully de-
corated with evergreen boughs,
poinsettias and a lighted tree for
the Christmas service on Sunday.
The Sunday school pupils and
teachers occupied the front pews
and the junior choir led in the
singing of Christmas hymns, Mr,'
Herr had a Short Christmas mos -
sage for the children and their
white gifts were presented. The
little classes sang "Away in a
Manger." The first scripture les• 1 v

poem "Miracle of Snow" and the
singing of several carols. Thescripture lesson was read by Mrs.

Toronto for overseas relief. The
January meeting will be held at

favored with an instrumental.
The topic, "Being a Citizen and

BRODHAGEN
A basket of flowers was in St,
Peters Lutheran Church on Sun-
day from the funeral of Samuel
Davis, Fullerton. Bouquets of
white mums on the altar were
purchased by the Sunday School.
The Luther League of St. Peter's
L u t h e r a n Church distributed
plants to the aged and shutins in
the community for Christmas.

was presented on Christmas eve
with Mr. Edgar Elligsen the sup-
erintendent in charge. A Pageant
"Beside thy cradle here I stand"
was portrayed and the unior choir
singing with Miss Audrey Priest-
ap at the organ, Two lighted
Christmas trees adorned the
chancel and several poinsettia
plants also two bouquets of white
flowers on the altar.
On Wednesday afternoon of
last week the pupils of Brodhag-
en School presented their Christ-
mas program in the school to the
parents, and the draw was made
for fou' prizes, resulting as fol-
lows; Electric blanket to Mr,
Gray, Mitchell; Haesock, Mrs.
Geo. Baler, Dublin; Camera, Hen-
ry Leonhardt Jr., Brodhagen;
Christmas cake, Lew Hicks, of
Brodhagen. Santa distributed
gifts and Mr, Wolfe, the teacher,
received a smoking stand and a
magazine rack from the pupils.

SS No. 6 held their annual
school concert on Wednesday ev-
ening of last week. A large crowd
filled the township hall to listen
to the choruses, recitations, dia-
logues and pageant which were
excellently presented by the pu•
pile under the direction of their
teacher, Miss Jean McKellar with
Miss Carol Taylor at the piano.
The United Church New Year's
service will be held next Sunday
afternoon at 2 p.m. The Sacra-
ment of the Lord's Supper will be
administered during the service.
