Eight tables of progres- sive euchre were in play and slides of the wedding were shown later. An address was road by Mrs. J, R. Murdoch and the cou- pie were presented with a table lamp, magazine rack and oush, Ions, Ernest Talbot and Win, Mc. Lachlan Presenting the gilts. The couple thanked everyone for their kindness. The Christmas meeting of the WAIS held Thursday Dec. Sth in the schoolroom of the church with Mrs, John Sinclair in charge of the meeting. The worship ser- vice theme was centred around Christmas. Carol " Silent Night, Holy Night", Mrs. Allan John- ston.read the story of "Silent Night" and Mrs. 'Winston Work- man gave the interpretation of the same. Everyone joined in the singing of this carol. The offering was taken by the hostesses, Mrs, Pearson Charters and Mrs. Ross Love. The report of Presbyterial held at Thames Road Church in Oct. was given by Mrs. Emerson Kyle. The minutes were read and adopted. The roil call was ans- wered with a gift for the Salva- tion At -my. Mrs. John Sinclair and Mrs, Ross Broadfoot favour- ed with a piano duet "Silent Night". A very impressive can- dle lighting service was held, the 1st candle "Forgiveness" was lit by Mrs. H. Johnson. Everyone joined in singing the 1st verse of "Once in Royal David's City". The 2nd candle for "Peace" was cit by Mrs. J. Anderson followed by the first verse of "Gentle Mary Laid her Child". The 3rd candle for "Joy" was lit by Mrs. Wm. Bell followed by first verse of "Joy to the World". The 4th candle for "Love" was lit by Mrs, E, Kyle. Everyone sang "Away in a Manger'." Mrs. H. Johnson of Brucefield and Kippen gave the Christmas Message, "Following the Star". Mrs, R. J. Elgie gave the visiting report, 8 calls to shutins. The sunshine report was given by Mrs. Eldon Jarrett. It was decided to pack Christmas boxes for shutins, The slate of officers was then given by Mrs. Alex McMut'trie, Mrs. John And- erson thanked everyone for re- membering her while she was a patient in Clinton Hospital. Mrs, Jno, Aikenhead and Mrs, John McGregor bad charge ot the devotional period. Mrs. Aikenhead gave the topic "The time o1 Promise", Mrs, McGregor read the scripture Isaiah 9: 2.7 and Psalms 18 and 28. Mrs. Me' Gregor led in Prayer, Hymn 65 "Joy to the World".
